BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball team will open the regular season this weekend at the FSW Tournament in Fort Myers.
It will be the second straight season that the Titans will open the season at the tournament, as the team will play two matches each day.
Eastern Florida State College has three players returning from a team that won 15 matches last season. Setter Sophia Iglesias was named to the second team all-Citrus Conference team and finished with 585 assists, averaging 78.91 per set.
The Titans will open the season on Friday against Snow College at 12:30 p.m. at Florida Southwestern State College. Snow College is coming off an 18-win season, and the two teams met in the tournament last year with the Titans winning in straight sets.
Then at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, they will play Trinity Valley Community College, which is ranked No. 10 in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll. Trinity Valley won 24 matches last season and went to the national tournament. The Titans edged the Cardinals in five sets last season.
On Saturday, Eastern Florida State College will play two more matches, beginning with the College of Southern Idaho at 9 a.m. CSI is coming off a down season, but has been a perennial power and has a veteran group back for the 2025 season.
The Titans will finish against No. 5-ranked Utah State Eastern, who had 25 wins last season and defeated the Titans in the tournament last season. Utah State Eastern placed seventh in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
