Catawba Invitational will be held at Duran Golf Club in Viera on March 10-11.

Mila Tang Takes the Crown at Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite

Eastern Florida State College’s own Mila Tang snatched the title at the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite on Tuesday, finishing just one swing ahead of the rest of the field. She polished off the event on an even‑par final round, helping the Titans land a solid third-place spot.

Game Summary

Mila kicked off the tournament with a 3‑under, giving the Titans a bright start. Her second round slipped a few levels with a 4‑over, but the comeback was on point—she landed back at even par across all four rounds.

Her final round was a rollercoaster: three birdies, three bogeys, but the front nine was a 3‑under clean sweep with just one bogey all weekend.

Key Moments

  • First Round: 3‑under, setting the tone
  • Second Round: 4‑over, a hiccup that Ivanna turned into a comeback
  • Final Round: 3‑under front nine, 3‑over back nine—waltzing back to par

Other Highlights

  • Ann Burel shot a solid 71 in her second round and finished tied for 13th with former Titan Gracie Doke, now pitching for Truett McConnell.
  • Jenna Barnett bounced back from a rocky start, posting 74 and 78 in the final two rounds to finish 16th.
  • The Titans as a team finished 312 in the final round, landing behind SCAD Savannah and Dalton State, who clinched the team title.

All in all, it was a day of triumph for Mila and the Titans—proof that a little grit, a dash of humility, and a clean sense of humor can go a long way on the green.

2024 Catawba Invitational: Eastern Florida State College Strikes Up a Promising Performance

Yesterday’s round at Duran Golf Club in Viera kept the Titans firing on all cylinders. Coach Jamie Howell couldn’t help but smile while highlighting the group’s steady rebound.

Coach’s Take‑away

“Mila gave us a solid finish in round two and capped it off with a bowl‑good closing round,” Howell said. “We’ve seen flashes of brilliance from the team throughout the three days, and while the scores weren’t perfect, this run gave us a crystal‑clear idea of where we need to fine‑tune our game to clean up those numbers.”

Key Players

  • Emma Parker – 79 in the finale, finished 24th overall. “Best round of the tournament for her to date,” said the coach.
  • Brittany Odic – Tied for 31st.
  • Cayden Challacombe – 36th overall in the individual standings.
What’s Next?

Eastern Florida State College will move on to the next leg of the college tour: the Catawba Invitational, slated for March 10–11 at the same Duran Golf Club. The Titans are looking to convert those “glimpses” into a full-blown run for the trophy.
