Space Coast Skaters Set to Shine at ISU World Figure Skating Championships

Emmanuel and Jazmine Parreno both coached by Joshua Uster

Stars Behind the Skate: The Parreno Duo Greet the World as Boston’s New Sweepers

Who Are They?

  • Emmanuel Parreno – A figure‑skating enthusiast from Space Coast Iceplex with a knack for graceful movements.
  • Jazmine Parreno – Emmanuel’s twin sister, equally passionate and a dedicated skater in her own right.

From Playa to the Podium

The International Skating Union (ISU) World Championships are set to blaze a path at TD Garden in Boston this March 25‑30, and the Parrenos have landed the spotlight as the official sweepers.

Think of sweepers as the behind‑the‑scenes heroes—skating onto the ice in a flash after each routine and gathering the fan‑tossed gifts, from bouquets to stuffed animals. Their job is swift, precise and oh so rewarding.

It Was No Walk in the Park

Out of over 200 budding skaters who auditioned, 40 coveted spots were up for grabs. Securing just two of those slots meant Emmanuel and Jazmine had to throw their hats in the ring and prove themselves.

The Journey So Far

  • Coached by Joshua Uster from the very start of their skating careers.
  • Two Nifty trips to Boston for practice and audition sessions.
  • Preparation for the final appearance next month, complete with custom costumes conceived by Olympic designer Josiane Lamond.

What This Means for the Parrenos

Being picked as sweepers places the Parreno twins on the world stage—an exciting mix of responsibility and sheer bragging rights. They’ll be known for gliding onto the ice, gracefully collecting fans’ tokens, and adding an extra sparkle to one of the sport’s most anticipated events.

For now, let’s raise a glass to Emmanuel and Jazmine Parreno and toast to their triumphant journey from the Space Coast Iceplex to the dazzling lights of TD Garden.

Inside the Skate Dream

Emmanuel and Jazmine pumped up for the moment of a lifetime. “We’re beyond excited! It’s such an honor to be chosen,” they exclaimed, eyes wide and smiles huge. “Skating at TD Garden, in front of the world, is a dream come true.”

The Judge That Glittered With Stars

Olympian and U.S. champion Mirai Nagasu took the helm for the tryouts, hunting for skaters who zing with charisma, confidence, and top‑notch skating skills. “These are the moments that will stay with them forever,” Nagasu said. “It’s an incredible experience that keeps young skaters passionate about the sport.”

What’s on the Horizon?

  • The ISU World Figure Skating Championships swinging into Boston from March 25‑30.
  • Our dynamic duo will turn heads, grinding out moves on an international stage and proudly representing Space Coast Iceplex.
  • Fans can feel the electric vibe of the competition, see fresh talent line up, and maybe even pay a lap dance to the rhythmic music.
