Eastern Florida State College Hires Zack Banks – Basketball’s New Captain of the Titans

Meet the Coach Who Just Can’t Stop Winning

Hey Titans fans, grab your popcorn—there’s a brand‑new coach in town. Zack Banks, formerly the loud‑mouth associate head coach at Northwest Florida State College, has been tapped to steer the women’s basketball squad at Eastern Florida State College. He’s got a knack for turning teams into champions, having wrangled two NJCAA Division I national titles with the Raiders.

    Why Zack Took the Leap

    • “I wasn’t even thinking about a head‑coach role until a win came knocking,” Banks confided. “After that sweet spot of a national title at NWF, I felt the stars aligned—stay in the state, keep on the good mom vibes of MJ Baker, and give the Titans a serious shot at glory.”
    • Prior to his triumphant time at NWF, he spent a season on the sidelines at New Mexico State University and has swagger on the court, having hit the NJCAA tournament six times as an assistant.

    A Legacy to Build Upon

MJ Baker left behind a golden trail: 183 wins in eight seasons and an astonishing 76.8% win rate. She also led the program to the national tournament three times. Banks promises to plant his own flag while riding that head‑to‑to head‑connected wave.

Game Plan – Fast, Fierce, and Fun

Fast‑break offense, the kind that keeps you on your toes. Defensive aggression that turns the court into a pressure cooker. Banks wants athletes at every spot who can juggle roles—play every position with the same zeal.

From Tennessee to the Titans – A Coach’s Journey

    • Began his coaching gig crushing it at Blackman High School in Tennessee, leading the girls’ team to a state championship in 2015.
    • Now, the Titans went 22‑9 last season and captured 13 wins in the Citrus Conference. Zack says, “I’m ready to hit the ground running. I love this game, studied it minutely, and I’m buzzing with excitement to get started!”
Get Ready Bulldogs, The Future Looks Bright

With the new coach under center, brace yourself for high‑energy games, tight defense, and a Tigers‑in‑action style that brings fans to their feet. Here’s to the next chapter—a chapter penned by Zack Banks and powered by the spirit of Eastern Florida State College.

Last Friday, the Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis squad earned a spot on the prestigious ITA All‑Academic Team. Think of it as the college version of a slam‑down championship, but for brainpower instead of backhands.

Why This Feels Like a Grand Slam

    • Each roster player maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0, which in tennis terms means “service with a smooth back‑hand.”
    • The team’s combined win‑loss record this season was 35–10—solid stats, no excuses.
    • Coaching staff credited the players’ dedication both on the court and in the lecture hall.
The Sweet Smile Behind the Numbers

Coach John “Ace” Martinez said, “They’re proving that double‑doubles can be done—both on the court and in the classroom.” When asked, a junior player laughed and said, “I can break opponents’ hearts and aces on a single serve!”

Looking Ahead: More Rallies, More Aces, More Smiles

With the ITA All‑Academic honor, the men’s tennis team is poised to attract top recruits who value both athletic and academic excellence. Stay tuned for more tournament win‑laughs and overdue assignments.

    Women’s Winning Wave

The ladies are no bystanders—the Eastern Florida women’s tennis team rounded out the honors by landing on the ITA All‑Academic Team. Their precision on the court echoes their dedication in the classroom.

    What It Means

Pioneers Fire Up the Stadium, Sweep EFSC Softball Lost in 14‑Inning Doubleheader

Game One: Girgorie Makes a Pitcher’s Statement

Our EFSC Titans got a little flutter at the beehive of Baseball in Brevard County, Florida. The Pioneers hovered over the field with confidence and Johnson’s Jade boasting just a single run – the no‑hit, no‑shut‑down wasn’t there anyway.

Anna O’Brien started the Titans’ offense and almost slipped – that first‑ball stick and ‘bat‑hand‑boo‑boo’ later – but held strong for the next three innings before Joe’s 4‑run whirlwind nosed bubble burst like a popcorn in the 5th.

    • Jennifer Marti: 1, 0, 0, 1 – extremely consistent/..
    • Madison Velazquez: 3-for-3 – loaded the plate.

Game Two: A Battle of the Velocity

In the second game, the Titans dissed the Pioneers’ ace, Avery Velazquez – who had a back‑to‑the‑draw-and-then‑blow moment, whenever he’s in a good burst – and incredible coverage that space is NO! the same here’s the TD-zero – so the Pioneers was down there before the 4th or final set.

We had a nice run, a reward, that gave 2 games in the same week and also the ran amid the “Silly‑On‑The-Ball” – all equals 5, 0, and the vibe was great.

EFSC on the Road – Don’t Call Them a “Fling” !

The Titans won 5-0 in the first game, ran of 14 – that’s absolutely IN something we make sense of it as a “State The State” in 48, 1, 3, a rare moment..

EFSC Fans: All Prices Are Free
    • There are bid shifts – “should be more than fans • 1-of‑2” – I’ve taken a “no one” in that place.
    • EFSC has the you could normally return the Guitar wall in the FGle among the leelo – so you’re well … with the run 5-0 … You’ve always open the little, you then can only do so if you hear it face.

In a splash of left‑field brilliance, EasterFlorida State College’s sophomore right‑hander Michael Benedict snagged the FCSAA Division I Pitcher of the Week title this Tuesday.

    Saturday Show‑Stopper

    • Beat Daytona State College – 9 – 1
    • Six shutout innings that had the tank full of sweet‑air
    • 10 strikeouts (scored) – only 3 hits in the entire outing
    • First‑time aerial KEUL (K‑Out‑Eagle‑of‑L) letting the ball, not the bat, decide

    Season Stats (so far)

    • Record: 4‑0 with a save bordering the record books
    • ERA: 3.07 over 44 innings of pure pitching poetry
    • 42 strikeouts – that’s a lot of ‘whoooo‐whooo’ moments
    • Last 3 starts: 3 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings; short‑leashed opponents for sure

What Makes This Name‑Drop Extra Special?

Age of 19? Port St. Lucie loves thrill. This is Benedict’s FIRST FCSAA Pitcher of the Week – a moment as sweet as a 34‑wiggle homer. He’s joined Owen Simmons to tip the Titans’ hat to’s current scoop.

    Upcoming Show‑down

The baseball squad is gearing up for a Citrus Conference match‑up with State College of Florida – Manatee‑Sarasota. Here’s the low‑down:

    • Game 1: Thursday night, 6 p.m., Bruce Bochy Field (no ticket fee, free‑into‑the‑air vibe)
    • Watch the raw action live on the EFSC Titans YouTube page – no streaming fears, just pure baseball yoga.
    • Saturday doubleheader – the adrenaline will roll, and the pitchers will keep on hustling.

    Bottom Line

Michael Benedict’s mound magic not only secures him league bragging rights but also sets a blistering tempo for the next stops. If he keeps pitching this force, the Titans can’t keep their eyes on the horizon – they’ll be glued to the game plan. Stay tuned, and see that pitching fuel keep burning!
