Trump Says Justice Department Has Done Its Job On Epstein Case

Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times,

President Donald Trump said in a lengthy social media post that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has “done its job” on releasing information connected to deceased convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“The now dying (after the DOJ gave thousands of pages of documents in full compliance with a very comprehensive and exacting Subpoena from Congress!) Epstein case was only brought back to life” in recent days for political purposes, not for the victims, Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sept. 5.

Trump added that the Justice Department “has done its job,“ and ”they have given everything requested of them“ in the Epstein case, adding that it’s time for Democrats who are making Epstein-related demands to ”end“ what he called the ”Epstein hoax.”

In the post, he also said that the chatter around Epstein is designed to serve as a “hoax” to gain political points and an attempt “to deflect and distract from the great success of a Republican President.”

Democrats and some Republicans in the House have called for disclosures related to the case, about six years after Epstein was charged with sex trafficking counts before he was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019. This week, lawmakers hosted a news conference with women who said they were victims of Epstein to call for more transparency.

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee, under Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), released a batch of Epstein-related files that it said it obtained from the DOJ in response to a subpoena for those records.

The records encompass 33,295 pages of material, which were uploaded onto Dropbox and Google Drive.

Speaking to reporters in the Capitol on Tuesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said that the document disclosure “is the beginning and not the end” and that “we want to bring justice to every single person who is involved in the Epstein evils and the cover up thereof, but we also want to be equally certain we protect the innocent victims.”

The materials include videos that were captured outside of Epstein’s jail cell, footage from his Florida home, audio files between his former associate Ghislaine Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche over the summer, and other documents.

Transcripts of the interview between Maxwell and Blanche were released last month.

Maxwell is currently serving out a 20-year prison term after she was convicted on charges in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors over the course of a decade.

In the news conference, the women who said they were Epstein’s victims called on members of Congress to pass a bill requiring the release of more documents related to the case.

“Survivors need protection, resources, and legal support. If this Congress is serious about justice, then let this moment also affirm your commitment to provide victims with the legal aid they need,” Anouska De Georgiou, a self-described Epstein victim, said at the press event earlier this week that had been organized by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.).

Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami Mansion

Jimmy Butler claimed he and his family, including his cancer-stricken father, were forced to deal with a mold-infested rental in the countersuit against a former landlord accusing the NBA star of owing a six-figure sum in unpaid rent, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the Golden State Warriors player, 35, denied all allegations of wrongdoing in the lawsuit filed by Five Star Marketing and Promotions Inc. Five Star filed suit against Jimmy in February.

    window.firework_player_src = ‘//asset.fwcdn3.com/js/storyblock.js’;
    window.split_percentage = 0;

The landlord claimed the NBA star signed a lease in 2022 for a five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 5,398-square-foot home in Miami Beach, Florida.
The lease was to expire in August 2024. The landlord said Jimmy stayed in the home past the lease and did not make the $130,000 payment due in August 2024 or September 2024.Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami Mansion

Further, the landlord claimed Jimmy allowed the home to “fall into complete disrepair due to misuse, neglect or waste.”
The landlord said it attempted to access the home to fix the HVAC system but were prevented by Jimmy’s Chief of Staff.
The suit also alleged, “[Jimmy] also changed the locks to the Property and did not provide Five Star with a key, preventing Five Star from being able to perform the necessary maintenance to the Property.”
The landlord said Jimmy employed his own pool cleaning team but the “pool was not maintained and became overgrown with algae and other debris.”
“Due to the extreme condition / disrepair of the pool, the pool pumps also broke and required replacement,” the suit read.
The suit claimed the air conditioning unit was not maintained nor was the filter changed, which caused a significant leak in the ceiling.Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami Mansion

He said he moved in after paying a $130,000 deposit and another $390,000 in advance rent. Jimmy said the issues with the home started in November or December 2023.
He said the home suffered a power outage for multiple days. He claimed Five Star sent people over to fix the issue.Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami Mansion

“During this prolonged power outage, [Jimmy] and his family were forced to vacate the Premises and stay at a hotel, not only because the Premises lacked electricity, but also because the A/C unit stopped working. [Jimmy] and his family returned to the Premises once the power was fixed, but the A/C unit continued to experience periodic issues and occasionally would not work. This problem was never rectified by Five Star,” his countersuit read.
In December 2023, Jimmy said his team noticed a leak that had caused damage to a “nearby wall such that the ceiling appeared to be close to caving in on itself.”
“Five Star sent repair workers to the Premises to fix the leak and resulting damage, but problems persisted,” the suit read.
In early 2024, Jimmy said his chef noticed another leak. Jimmy said he noticed in early 2024 that the water from multiple leaks around the home had resulted in the growth of mold, “which spread throughout portions of the interior of” the home and created an “environment that threatened the health and safety of [Jimmy] and his family, including his three children.”Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami MansionJason Koerner/Getty Images for Reserve Padel
    Jimmy Butler.
The NBA star said the issue caused issues for his dad, who had cancer. His lawyer told the court, “By this time, [Jimmy] and his family were beginning to feel the effects of the rampant mold spreading throughout the Premises. Members of [Jimmy’s] family, including his children, became ill and were constantly coughing.”
His lawyer added, “Nor was the leak and resulting mold accumulation limited to the area of the Premises where first discovered. In fact, mold had accumulated under much of the flooring in the guest house where [Jimmy’s] father was living, and in the hallways close to [Jimmy’s] daughters’ room. [Jimmy’s] father, who had cancer at the time, suffered from bouts of coughing and was distressed by the ill effects of his long exposure to mold.”
Jimmy’s dad passed away on February 8, 2024, due to terminal illness.
Jimmy’s lawyer said, “In April 2024, following the discovery of the mold, [Jimmy] informed Five Star of the issue, but Five Star failed to meet its obligation to send someone to the Premises promptly to remediate the issue. Instead, [Jimmy] was forced to hire a mold remediation service, which came and surveyed the Premises and discovered mold growth throughout the Premises.”
In June 2024, Jimmy said Five Star sent out a team to make repairs.Jimmy Butler Sues Ex-Landlord Over Alleged Mold Infested Miami Mansion

He lawyer added, “Up to this point, the elevator had never been used by [Jimmy], as it was broken, and remained broken, during the entire period of [Jimmy’s] tenancy. Upon inspecting the elevator, Five Star’s employees pried open the doors and discovered the elevator had been inundated with water and damaged. Once again, the water damage appeared to have resulted from leaks in the roof.”

Jimmy said Five Star then demanded $128,000 for repairs but he scoffed at the bill. He said he kept some of his personal belongings at the home after the lease expired, “as [Jimmy] attempted to ensure Five Star’s mold and remediation efforts had eliminated harmful mold within the Premises such that his family could safely return to retrieve their belongings. Upon confirming as much, [Jimmy] returned, packed his family’s belongings and vacated the Premises.”

His lawyer noted, “Left unaddressed, the festering mold contaminated and ruined personal property owned by [Jimmy], resulting in damages to [Jimmy], including but not limited to damage to his personal property of approximately $400,000. In addition, [Jimmy] and his family incurred additional expenses when they were forced to vacate the Premises on multiple occasions during his tenancy.”
Jimmy also denied he changed the locks or prevented the landlord from entering the home to make repairs. The case is ongoing.
As In Touch previously reported, Jimmy and his ex are in the middle of a court battle.

    Visualizing Federal Layoffs Under Trump

Does cutting government headcount make it work more effectively?

From firing inspectors-general, to mass layoffs in the Department of Education, the federal workforce is being scaled back.

So far, the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of 12 of these terminations, while scores of workers are leaving voluntarily.

This graphic, via Visual Capitalist’s Dorothy Neufeld, shows Trump’s federal layoffs, based on data from CNN.

Ranked: Federal Layoffs by Agency in 2025

In the table below, we show more than 51,000 federal job cuts as of July 14, 2025:

So far, 34 agencies or sub-agencies have made job cuts either through layoffs or notices of termination.

As a result, Washington D.C. is home to the highest number of layoffs in the country in 2025, with six agencies seeing at least 80% of their workforce eliminated.

Most notably, USAID’s closure resulted in about 10,000 layoffs, with 83% of its programs being shut down.

Meanwhile, the Small Business Administration cut about 42% of its workforce, equal to approximately 2,700 employees.

Even more staggeringly, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) cut 86.4% of its staff.

For perspective, the federal headcount stood at about three million employees in early 2025, with 50% working in the sector for more than 10 years.

Overall, the U.S. ranks 11th out of 80 countries by share of government workers per capita, based on 2023 figures.

  • Trump 'Will Fire Cook' If She Doesn't Resign After Pulte Drops New Receipts

Trump 'Will Fire Cook' If She Doesn't Resign After Pulte Drops New Receipts

Update: President Trump just told reporters in Washington DC that he’ll fire Cook if she doesn’t resign.

    *  *  *

Days after Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte wrote a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi claiming Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms” by claiming two homes as her primary residence, Pulte dropped new evidence on Friday suggesting that Cook lied again on a government form.

“We have obtained a document Lisa Cook submitted to the U.S. Government while serving as Federal Reserve Governor. In it, on February 28, 2023, she represents to the U.S. Government that the Atlanta Property is her PERSONAL RESIDENCE,” Pulte wrote on X. “However, Lisa Cook, as a then-sitting Fed Governor and six months earlier, on September 1, 2022, appears to have listed that same property for RENT.”

Here are the ‘receipts’ spread out for your perusal:

Recall that Cook listed the Atlanta Condo has her “Primary Residence” at the same time she was claiming a property in Michigan as her primary residence.

Last week Pulte wrote a letter to Bondi and DOJ official Ed Martin suggesting that Cook may have committed a criminal offense. The letter alleges that Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud under the criminal statute.”

Bloomberg reports that Pulte said Cook took a mortgage on a property in Ann Arbor, Michigan, signing a mortgage agreement that stipulated she would use the property as her primary residence for at least a year.

Two weeks later, according to the letter, she took another mortgage on a Georgia property and also declared it would be her primary residence.

Pulte also called on Bondi to look into whether Cook misrepresented her circumstances by later listing the Georgia property for rental.

The letter prompted President Trump to respond, demanding “Cook must resign, now!!”

    Cook responded to the accusations;

I have no intention of being bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet,” Cook said in a statement.

“I do intend to take any questions about my financial history seriously as a member of the Federal Reserve and so I am gathering the accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide the facts.”

Of note, she was nominated to the Fed by President Joe Biden and took office in 2022, becoming the first Black woman to serve on the Fed’s board of governors.

She was later nominated by Biden for a full term, which expires in 2038.

  • Discover the Enchanting Châteaux, Lush Gardens, and Vineyards of France\’s UNESCO-Listed Loire Valley

Loire Valley: A Never‑Ending Fairy Tale

Imagine a scene straight out of a storybook:

    • Majestic châteaux that look like they’re straight out of a Renaissance dream—no coronations here, just pure architectural wonder.
    • Charming villages speckled with flower‑packed streets where each corner feels like a secret garden.
    • The celebrated river—the Loire itself—that waves its flag, twinkling as if it’s invited the whole world for a picnic.

And the kicker? That enchantment is everlasting. Even after a drizzly afternoon, you’ll still feel that elusive, “watching a painting come alive” vibe that has nothing to do with GPS coordinates or Wi‑Fi.

    Why It Works

Because the Loire Valley doesn’t just tell a story—it writes it with castles, blossoms, and a river that keeps the romance alive, page by page. So next time you’re scrolling through travel blogs, remember: somewhere in France, nothing ever fades; the magic just keeps spinning.

If the famed French writer Victor Hugo had visited the Château de Chambord today, it’s safe to say he would have been over-sharing it on Instagram.
After travelling there for the first time, he wrote: “Can you imagine, dear Paul, that ever since I saw Chambord, I have been asking anyone and everyone: Have you seen Chambord?” Standing before it myself, I know just how he felt.

Looking up at this fairy-tale castle, crowned with its carnival of cream-and-grey turrets, I want to tell everyone about it too. Commissioned by François I in 1519 and eventually completed in the 17th century, it is considered a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. At its centre is a double-revolution staircase inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.
While Chambord is arguably the most famous, every one of the celebrated châteaux in the Loire Valley, of which more than a hundred can be visited, has its own individual charm. Then there are the renowned vineyards, the historic towns and the flower-filled villages. And, at the heart of it all, is the longest river in France.

    A world-renowned destination

25 Years of the Loire Valley – A Legacy Worth Stalking

Turned 25 in 2000, the Loire Valley has long been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stretching a 174‑km ribbon from Sully‑sur‑Loire all the way to Chalonnes‑sur‑Loire. The sheer length of this historic corridor is what makes spotting every castle, vineyard, and charming village feel a bit like hunting for lost treasure.

Why You Should Plan a Return – Even If You Can’t Cover It All in One Trip

    • It’s practically impossible to see every gem. Even a day‑trip will leave you with at least one “next time” moment.
    • Environment — the vineyards, river, and medieval architecture together weave a story spanning centuries.
    • Proximity — only an hour’s train ride from Paris, so you can pop in after a café break or a weekend getaway.

Think of it as a “pick‑up‑you‑later” adventure: Book a short stay, enjoy the scenery, then schedule a full‑scale excursion later on. The valley’s status as one of France’s largest heritage sites means there’s always something fresh to discover, even just a few miles apart.

What Makes the 25th Anniversary Special?

Celebrating a quarter‑century means the valley has transformed into a living museum, with:

    1. Restored châteaux that still host music festivals and art exhibitions.
    2. Vineyards whose organic practices now beat the alleyway of history.
    3. New walks and cycling routes that let you feel the pulse of the river.

So if you’re looking for a reason to book a quick stop or to map out the full itinerary, remember that the Loire Valley isn’t just a place—it’s a sprawling narrative that keeps getting newer chapters every year.

Enjoying the waterfront views on a stroll around Orléans.

    Strolling Along Orléans’ Beautiful Riverside

If you’re heading from the east, a perfect first stop is Orléans – the ever‑lovely gateway to the Loire Valley. This ancient French city earned its fame by being freed from an English siege back in 1429, thanks to none other than Joan of Arc. Why Orléans is a Romantic Riverside Delight

    • Riverside charm – stroll beside the Loire and feel the calm unfold.
    • Renaissance architecture – buildings that tell stories of old gold‑and‑glow.
    • Vibrant street art – from M. Chat to Tag Lady and MifaMosa, the city’s creative flair is as lively as Joan herself.

If you thought you’d just be buying ketchup at the supermarket, think again. Today we’re exploring the last trunk‑full of true vinegar in the heart of Orléans, where a centuries‑old tradition keeps pH levels and taste buds alike in delight.

Why Orléans Became the Vinegar Capital of the Middle Ages

    • Picture a 12th‑century ship drifting down the Loire River, its cargo of wine slowly turning sour because the tow‑boat moved at a snail’s pace.
    • Locals, “Sour by the hour!” turned to vinegar as a savory salvation, and the city earned its lofty nickname.
    • Fast forward to today—Orléans still smells like history, plus a hint of vinegared triumph.

The Martin‑Pouret Story: From 1797 to Modern‑Day Brilliance

Founded over two centuries ago, Martin‑Pouret has kept the vinegar flame burning bright. When the original vinegar shop opened its doors near the city center, it became the go‑to spot for:

    • Specialist vinegars that even your grandma would brag about.
    • Mustard, sauces, and small‑scale culinary treasures that delight every palate.
    • A bustling boutique that adds a splash of tradition to your everyday grocery run.

Take a Sneak‑Peek Behind the Scenes

But why stop at the shop? Just outside the town, the workshop doors swing open to welcome curious foodies and history buffs alike. A guided tour reveals:

    • How the masterned hands of vinegar craftsmen harness centuries of skill.
    • The bubbling alchemy that turns simple wine into amber‑golded liquid gold.
    • Seasoned anecdotes that’ll have you laughing and learning simultaneously.
    Emotional Honcho’s Take

It’s not just about vinegar; it’s a joyful reminder that flavors, like memories, grow richer with time. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just a flavor enthusiast, Martin‑Pouret invites you to taste the legacy—and maybe toss a few jokes along the way.

So strap on your culinary hat, grab a glass, and let the vinegar adventure in Orléans fill your senses with love, laughter, and a splash of history. Cheers!

    On the trail of châteaux

Living at the Edge of Two Worlds: Château de Meung-sur-Loire

Picture this: you hop on a half‑hour train ride and land at a place that looks like it stepped straight out of a fairytale—except it’s in full daylight. Château de Meung‑sur‑Loire, or as locals call it, “the castle with two faces”, is a brilliant mix of old‑school charm and quirky 18th‑century flair.

    One Side: Medieval Majesty

On the left, the fortress stands tall in its stone‑knitted, Age‑of‑Chivalry attire—basically the castle that had a good time before the French Revolution.

    Other Side: Salmon‑Pink Shi

Flip over to the right and you’re greeted by a hands‑painted 18th‑century façade in a pale salmon pink. Yes, it’s as audacious as a flamingo in a tuxedo.

Beyond the Walls: Dragon Trails and Zen Gardens

Just outside the gate, a dragon‑themed trail beckons—yes, we’re talking real life beasts! Think 14‑meter‑long animatronic basilisk, minuscule dragon replicas, and a hint of British fog too. The vibe is “once upon a time, but make it interactive.

When you’re done fighting with the dragons, wander into the zen‑like rose garden. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to exhale, maybe even an “um” with your coffee. Well‑spent stress‑relief.

Vineyard Vibes: Loire Valley’s Wine Playground

    • Sancerre: Flagship whites that’ll make your palate feel like it’s been sun‑bathing.
    • Saumur: Sparkling varieties that bring a little pop to your day.
    • Chinon: Reds that earn a rousing applause from connoisseurs.

Back at the more famous Château de Chambord, the wine‑lords have gone full eco‑mode. They’re producing organic, hand‑harvested wines now, echoing a tradition that probably started when someone thought, “Why not cook a bottle of wine by hand?”

    The “Obligatory” Tasting

And yes, there’s a mandatory sampling session, because why would we skip the obvious, right? They’ve got a sparkling rosé called La Favorite, and whoever’s laughing at the name now, you’ll just learn to expect nothing but excellence.

Bottom line: This getaway is a perfect mash‑up of history, whimsy, and perfectly fermented bottles. If you’re feeling adventurous in the Loire Valley, sign up. The castle says, “Come one, come all—just don’t forget to bring your curiosity!”

We teamed up with Moments de Loire, the cool crew that knows the river like the back of its fin. Their guide, with a twinkle in his eye, spilled the secret sauce about the river’s wildlife and hidden gems.

    • A bunch of rainbow‑colored dragonflies buzzed overhead, like pop‑up neon signs.
    • We spotted a giant heron, making a quick swoop that was almost as snappy as a headline.
    • Even though the beavers didn’t show up, the vibes were still fully plush.

The whole experience was like a storybook smooth, with the wind whispering and the water lapping—pure relaxation meets a dash of wonder. Whether you’re an eco‑nerd or just looking to escape the hustle, this little boat adventure promises a calm, charm‑filled ride along the Loire’s splendor.

    Where gardens meet fairy tales

Discover the Enchanting Heart of the Loire Valley

    Bonjour at Domaine de Chaumont‑sur‑Loire

If you’re a garden aficionado, this is the place to be. The estate’s charming château once hosted the legendary Catherine de ’Medici, and the grounds are alive with the International Garden Festival. The theme this year was “Once upon a time, in the garden,” and the results? Pure, spell‑binding magic that feels like a fairy‑tale scene come to life.

Take a Twist to the Royal City of Loches

A short detour brings you to one of France’s most impressive fortified cities. Dating back over a thousand years, Loches boasts an architectural tapestry that will leave you swooning. The centerpiece is the Royal Lodge, frequented by Charles VII, and a medieval keep that’s arguably one of Europe’s best‑preserved relics. Think of it as walking through the pages of a history book, but with better scenery.

    Montrésor: A Picture‑Perfect Village

Officially tagged as one of France’s “most beautiful” villages, Montrésor offers cobblestone streets, a lush valley, and a spectacular château. Don’t miss the haunting sculpture of the “Fallen Angel” by Constantino Corti; even Sir Mick Jagger has given it a salute. He owns a home nearby and has been spotted casually purchasing a baguette at a local bakery – talk about living the high‑life in everyday chic!

    Foodie Fix in Nouans‑les‑Fontaines

    • DorDinAire – the eco‑friendly hotspot run by the delightful Valérie and Thierry. Their seasonal dishes, spotlighted with locally sourced produce, keep your palate dancing with flavor while you respect the planet.

TL;DR: Gardens, history, pretty villages, stately sculptures, and a sustainable tapas bar all in one go – you certainly won’t want to miss this slice of Loire bliss.

    The Da Vinci connection

Day Six: Up to the Château Royal d’Amboise

Why the Castle is a Total Game‑Changer

Picture this: a massive stone palace perched on a cliff, giving the Loire River a front‑row seat. That’s the Château Royal d’Amboise—one of the region’s top‑named spots and a quick‑fire reminder of how the French kings never shy away from a good view.

    • Renaissance vibes galore. Think ornate arches, lavish tapestries, and architectural drama that even make a 22nd‑century architect blush.
    • Panorama like no other. From the castle’s heights you snag sweeping shots of the river, vineyards, and that stretch of countryside that looks like a painting.
    • Garden bragging rights. The palace’s gardens earned the prestigious title “Jardin Remarquable” because they’re basically a leafy rooftop party with every flower hashtag‑ready.

Honestly, I can’t see why any old stone castle can compete with this mix of history, scenery, and garden swagger. Bring your camera and a solid Insta feed—it’s a Château built for both eyeballs and hearts.

The panoramic view from the gardens of the Château Royal d’Amboise.

A Stroll Through History at Amboise

Imagine strolling through the lush gardens of the Château Royal d’Amboise—one of those moments that makes you feel like you’re on a timeless movie set. The view is so sweeping it could put a sunset to shame, and right behind the scenes is a little secret that leans heavily on art history lore.

    Where Leonardo Lies

That’s right, the world-renowned inventor, painter and all-around genius Leonardo da Vinci found his final resting place right there in a tiny, exquisitely carved chapel called Saint‑Hubert. It’s a quiet spot, unlike the bustle of a Louvre painting that usually floods the space. You won’t find a club of tourists swarming around; instead, you’ll be the only one gazing at the marble-born peace of this master’s last days.

    Beyond the Gates

    • Cut to the Château du Clos Lucé, the very house where Leonardo spent his twilight years. This place isn’t just a museum—it’s a cultural showstopper, a hotbed for anyone who wants a slice of Renaissance cool.
    • Visitors can walk in Leonardo’s footsteps, explore his inventions, and feel the creative atmosphere that shaped some of the greatest works of the human story.
    • Between the two palaces, you get a full snapshot of a guy who was a sculptor, a scientist, and a true Renaissance man. It’s a wow‑moment, literally.

So if you’re hungry for a bit of history that feels personal, grab a bottle of wine, wander into the gardens, and let the quiet wonder of this place, alongside the slightly mischievous brushstrokes of da Vinci, paint a day that is truly unforgettable.

8 The village of Chédigny is home to a thousand rose bushes along with many other plants and flowers.

Chédigny: A Petite Paradise of Pink & Pride

    Why It Matters

Picture a village tucked away in France where the everyday backdrop is a sea of crimson blooms. Chédigny isn’t just another stop on the road—it’s the only place in the region that proudly wears the badge of a Jardin Remarquable, a title bestowed upon gardens that shine with exceptional beauty. The locals have crammed a staggering one thousand rose bushes, and the scenery doesn’t stop there—tulips, gladiolas and a smattering of other floral friends give the place a splash of color you’d envy.

    Must‑Do Moments

    • Festival des Roses: Every year, the village lights up with music, street stalls, and of course, endless roses. Take a stroll, feel the petals in your skin, and maybe snag a memory card for the ‘pink confetti’.
    • Lunch at Le Clos aux Roses: Stop by the charming terrace that drapes itself in wisteria vines. A perfect spot for a relaxed bite—think rustic French cuisine paired with a scenic backdrop. The garden’s secret: those wisterian vines are the perfect excuse for spontaneous photo‑ops.

    A Quick Note For Travelers

When you’re heading south toward Loches, don’t pass Chédigny by unnoticed. Even the briefest stop here will leave you walking away with a little more perfume in the air and a sense of that warm, floral hug only a village of roses can offer.

    Au revoir, not goodbye

    Our Final Stop: Tours

    The City That Breathes Life

Later that afternoon we dropped into Tours, and oh boy, did the streets sing! Locals, students, and wanderers all jammed together around the city’s heritage, a dizzy mix of shops, and museums that seem to stretch forever. We were already dreaming of the next time we’d clock back to see the cathedral’s glittering façade, wander through the atmospheric halls of Hôtel Goüin, and maybe strike a pose doing yoga atop Tour Charlemagne.

Must‑See Highlights (Because Who Can Resist?)

    • Cathedral of Saint‑Gatien – its flamboyant façade is like a show‑stopper at a fashion week.
    • Hôtel Goüin – the exhibition space feels like stepping into a warm, smoky lounge.
    • Tour Charlemagne – yoga on a tower? Yes, please, and let the view steal your breath.

    Food Tour Fun with Sheena

We’re not just into the sights – we’re also chasing culinary delights! Sheena from Food Tours let us taste the local flavor like we were dipping our toes in a spoonful of sunshine. She led us to the buzzing square of Place Plumereau, where timber‑framed buildings surround sunny, canopied tables that are literally kissing the sun.

Place Plumereau – The Place to Be

It’s the kind of spot where every bite feels like a celebration, and every corner invites a selfie. The wooden charm and relaxed vibe gyrate through the whole square – you’ll laugh, you’ll eat, you’ll maybe even take a nap on a sun‑soaked bench.

A fitting finale to our trip at the festive Guinguette de Tours.

Finishing Strong at the Guinguette de Tours

We wrapped up our whirlwind journey at the Guinguette de Tours, where the local wines flowed and the swing music kept the crowd moving. As the sun slipped behind the river, we all felt that sweet, bittersweet taste of a trip well‑ended.

    Highlights

    • Drinking authentic Loire wines while the town cheered in golden light.
    • Getting lost in the dance moves that made us laugh and feel alive.
    • Watching the river’s glittery reflection like a Monet painting.

    What Would I Add?

All in all, this week was a splendid stop‑over—but I’d love to see even more of the valley. What I’m itching for next:

    • Trouglodite caves that hide secrets behind ochre walls.
    • A riverside cycle route that turns long rides into poetry.
    • A stroll through Blois, where history whispers from every corner.

    Ask About the Loire

Just as Victor Hugo celebrated the grandeur of Chambord, I’ll ask anyone: “Have you seen the Loire Valley?” If not, it’s high time you dive in!

Picture a bat that can send a softball skyward for a whopping 400 feet—that’s the kind of slam shots Lynnie’s known for, and she doesn’t spend that kind of energy on just one side of the field.

  • 2025\’s Global Queries: What the World Is Setting ChatGPT To Answer

2025\’s Global Queries: What the World Is Setting ChatGPT To Answer

What’s Really On People’s Minds When They Chat With ChatGPT?

Since the rollout of ChatGPT, the way folks are hunting for help has been flipping faster than a pancake at a breakfast joint. While developers used to be the first‑born crowd, there’s a noticeable drop in the share of software‑dev prompts for the past year. Turns out, all those coders were early adopters, but now the apple‑pie‑loving, everyday users are having the spotlight.

Top Prompt Categories (Thanks to Sensor Tower)

    • Code & Programming – still hot, but not as hot as before.
    • Business & Finance – people want growth hacks, market analysis, and investor‑ready pitch decks.
    • Health & Wellness – from nutrition tips to mental‑health check‑ins.
    • Creative Writing – brainstorming plot twists or catchy tweet hooks.
    • Personal Advice – love, friendship, or career moves.
    • Entertainment & Media – movie recs, playlist suggestions, and trivia.

What’s the story behind all that chatter? For early adopters, the lure was training the chatbot on code – they wanted to get their hands dirty with syntax, debugging, and algorithm optimisation. As the tool grew, people realised it could be babies of the same recipe: a quick way to ask nearly anything.

So next time you throw a question at ChatGPT, remember: it’s no longer just a coder’s desk‑side helper. It’s your personal research assistant, witty storyteller, and gossip buddy rolled into one smart chatbot. And who could blame them for that? It’s the ultimate flex in the age of information overload.

Top Categories for ChatGPT Prompts in 2025

I’d be happy to give the article a fresh spin in a lively, conversational style. Could you please share the full text you’d like me to rewrite?

ChatGPT’s Hot Ticket: Software Development Scores Big

Software development isn’t just about digging into the code—it’s the premier playground for ChatGPT users, grabbing a whopping 29% of all prompts today. Whether you’re a seasoned dev or a fledgling coder, this AI pal can:

    • Turn your code snippets into read‑and‑run jam sessions across dozens of programming languages
    • Spot bugs like a pro detective (and suggest fixes faster than you can say “syntax error”)
    • Automate mundane chores so you can spend more time on the big ideas

Curiously, the newest warriors in the coding arena—those with less than a year of experience—are the ones most enthusiastic about AI. It turns out fresh perspectives often spark the biggest tech optimism.

Other Hot Topics in the Prompt Universe

    • History & Society prompts claim a solid 15% of the scene, pulling people into the past while still talking about the present.
    • AI & Machine Learning follows close behind, showing users are hungry for deeper dives into algorithms that power the digital age.

Speed‑Demon Rise: Economics, Finance & Tax

The fastest‑growing niche is straight out of the market playbook. Its share has more than tripled in just one year as folks look for real‑world insights on:

    • Stocks—because everyone wants a piece of the “gold rush”
    • Financial markets—where charts are the new comic books
    • Macroeconomic trends—the giant waves that shape our future
    How to Dive in

Ready to explore these categories? Think of ChatGPT as that friendly AI sidekick you never knew you needed—no more background checks or hidden charges. Just sit back, ask away, and watch the AI conjure solutions faster than a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat.

  • Illegal-Alien-Protecting Judge Suffers Key Loss With Rejection Of Her Judicial Immunity Claim

Illegal-Alien-Protecting Judge Suffers Key Loss With Rejection Of Her Judicial Immunity Claim

    Authored by Jonathan Turley,

We have previously discussed the lack of a credible defense for Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who has been charged with facilitating the escape of an undocumented man being sought by federal officers in her courthouse. Indeed, despite having high-powered lawyers such as Paul Clement,  her recent social media posts seem more like a pitch for jury nullification. One bright spot for Dugan was that she was assigned to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman, a liberal Democrat who has run for prior office and has been accused of bias on the bench.

However, Judge Adelman just delivered a blow to the defense by rejecting Dugan’s claim that she had judicial immunity in taking her actions.

According to the criminal complaint, a six-person arrest team (including an ICE officer, a Customs and Border Protection officer, two FBI special agents, and two DEA agents) came to the courthouse to arrest Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican immigrant facing three misdemeanor battery counts they intended to deport.

He is accused of hitting someone 30 times during a fight that erupted over complaints that his music was too loud and assaulting three separate individuals, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Flores-Ruiz was previously deported and then entered again illegally, a federal felony. He was issued an I-860 Notice and Order of Expedited Removal on January 16, 2013, and Flores-Ruiz was “removed to Mexico through the Nogales, Arizona, port of entry.” Not only is reentry a felony but when there is an order of expedited removal, you can be deported without any further court hearing.

After facilitating his escape, Dugan was later arrested and charged with obstructing or impeding a proceeding (18 U.S.C. 1505) and concealing an individual to prevent his arrest (18 U.S.C. 1071).

Calls for resistance and even replication have also come from colleagues on the bench. Monica Isham, a circuit judge in Sawyer County, not only defended Judge Hannah Dugan in an email to other state judges but added that she “has no intention of allowing anyone to be taken out of my courtroom by [Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents] and sent to a concentration camp.”

Recently, Dugan went public with an interview that notably lacked any discernible defense, other than stating that she helps defendants use the “backdoor” when she considers circumstances that “warrant it.”

    Judge Adelman ruled on that:

“Ultimately, as the Supreme Court has stated, ‘the official seeking absolute immunity bears the burden of showing that such immunity is justified for the function in question.’ I cannot say as a matter of law that the defendant’s alleged conduct falls within even this more limited version of immunity…There is no basis for granting immunity simply because some of the allegations in the indictment describe conduct that could be considered ‘part of a judge’s job.’”

The lack of any cognizable claim in Dugan’s public pitch suggests that she might be hoping for a juror to simply vote to acquit as a visceral or political statement.

This is a liberal jury pool where jury nullification must be a concern for prosecutors even though such an argument cannot be made overtly by the defense to the jurors.

Israel Hits the Target: Air Strikes Against Iran—A Quick Take 2025

    So What Just Happened?

Picture this: In the summer of 2025, the Israeli Air Force launched a series of precision strikes on alleged Iranian military facilities. The move sparked a flurry of headlines, diplomatic flash‑points, and admittedly, enough drama for a blockbuster action movie.

    Why the Bombshell?

    • Preemptive Move: Israel claims the attacks were aimed at stopping Iran from edging closer to nuclear capability.
    • Hiding in Plain Sight: Experts say Iran had planned an elaborate “dual use” facility—both civilian and military—so the Israeli pilots had to decide what was a “toxic material” hub and what was a harmless research lab.
    • Security Vice: Israel’s stated goal was to secure its border and maintain regional balance in an area that can feel as tense as a game of chess with a missing piece.

    The Fallout, Fast‑Forward

The world’s reaction was a mixture of applause, boos, and the occasional sob (or two). While US allies in Washington raised their eyebrows, Iran’s leadership issued statements demanding sanctions—because nothing says “we’re not worried” like a stinging meme.

How This Could Shape the Region

    • Potential Escalation: Some analysts fear the strikes might trigger a domino effect, pulling neighboring countries into the crossfire.
    • Escalated Diplomacy: For the moment, the United Nations is poised to host emergency talks. The last thing we want is a conference where every participant is waiting for the Wi‑Fi to glitch.
    • Supply Chain Stress: Oil markets saw a minor uptick as shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf became a bit riskier. A little extra fuel should keep coffee makers humming.

    The Bottom Line

In plain English, Israel’s latest bombing campaign is a stark reminder that the geopolitical chessboard in the Middle East remains as volatile as a fresh pot of chili—full of unpredictable spices and a little bit of heat. The hope? It’s a temporary blip, a one‑time target, and not the opening move to a world‑conquering strategy game.

Israel Strikes Iran: A War of Caution

The Israeli Defense Forces just set the fire alarm on Iran after a series of failed talks that felt more like a quiet dinner than an official negotiation. Trump’s team had tried to cool things down, but Tehran was too busy reacting to the night‑time eruptions.

    What Happened?

Fox News reporter Trey Yingst relayed that Israeli jets launched a “sweeping” attack on Iranian targets, and yes—foreign ear‑plugs recommended as explosions rattled the floors of Tehran’s capital.

    Why Now?

The flare-up follows months of diplomatic misfires that ended in a raw over‑heated exchange of missiles from both sides, with Israel’s last big threat coming in November:

    • Turkey’s S‑300 air‑defence sweep from the Iranian side.
    • Israel’s rapid‑response counter strike that fried up to half of that system.

    Israel’s Emergency Mode

The overnight battle demanded the entire country to roll into “state of emergency” mode—cops on the streets, emergency services in high gear, and men on watch for the next Iranian volley.

    Key Takeaways

    • Israel’s big play was to crack the Iran’s nuclear lobby a little, if you can call it that.
    • Iran’s balled‑up first strike on Israeli territory prompted swift retaliation—a diplomatic tug‑of‑war hitherto unsolvable.
    • Turkey’s modern air‑defence is in flames, creating a complex security puzzle for all parties.

It’s a stark reminder that if you’re messing with nuclear affairs, good luck calibrating the diplomacy table with the right 90‑degree angle!

Hand‑picked olives that are ready to meet their destiny as premium oil.

A Trio That Tells a Story

    • Leccino – The classic, slightly spicy profile that’s a staple in any pantry.
    • Frantoio – A custodian of tradition, delivering a deep, peppery richness.
    • Moraiolo – The daring adventurer that adds a bright, fruity undertone.

The trio gets it to the next level with cold‑pressing, locking in all the flavors before they can escape. The process preserves the low acidity while keeping the depth of taste that takes any dish from ordinary to exceptional.

Why This Oil is Worth Taking a Bite At

Imagine dipping your bread into a glass of pure, decadent oil that feels like a hug from the Tuscan sun. The olive oil crafted at Il Palagio is specially tuned to the perfect climate and altitude of the region—an invisible ingredient that makes the liquid gold feel like a touch of Italian magic.

    Ready for Your Table?

Sting and Trudie are putting this culinary treasure on the shelves—and soon, it will be at your local American supermarket. Prepare to taste olive oil that’s low in acidity, rich in depth, and absolutely delicious. It’s an olive oil that reads the story of Il Palagio in every drop.

    Highlights of the Setlist

    • “Fields of Gold” – because a bit of sunshine can’t hurt.
    • “Every Breath You Take” – the ultimate test of memory and heart.
    • “Your Song” – a timeless tune that still feels fresh.
    • “Shape of My Heart” – a melodic journey that hits right in the feels.
    • Encore: “Nothing” – proving that even a “zero” song can ignite excitement.
    Why Fans Are Fired Up

    Sting’s “My Songs” – A Vegas‑Sized, Life‑Stories Extravaganza

Picture this: you’re in the middle of a dazzling, neon‑lit Vegas show where every string, beat, and lighting trick feels like a magic trick. Then, amid the sparkle, Sting pulls back the curtain and reminds us that behind all that glitz is a real human telling the chronicle of his own life – no choreographed fairy tale, just raw music and memory.

What that quote means in plain talk

    • Authenticity makes a difference: Sting wants the show to feel like “me,” not just another production.
    • Visuals spice it up: The laser‑caged décor doesn’t hide the songs – it amplifies them.
    • Audience development: Even after the applause, the crowd walks away a bit wiser, having followed his story.

    Why you’ll love it

Imagine a setlist that’s a time‑travel machine: each track is a window into a pivotal moment of his life. The lights and stage design wrap the songs in a “big‑screen” vibe that only Vegas can deliver, so the whole experience feels larger than life. And because Sting’s songs already carry that emotional punch, the stage enhances it without stealing the spotlight.

Billy Stein: Space Coast Hall Star Among MLB’s Top Pinch Hitters

    COCOA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE

From Little League to the Big Leagues: Billy Stein’s Rocky Road to Baseball Glory

    Where It All Began

Growing up in the sunny town of Cocoa, Billy Stein didn’t just dream of baseball—he lived it. He packed a bag of gloves and bat and dove into every local league the town had to offer:

    • Little League – where tiny arms swung big swings.
    • Babe Ruth – where the kids learned to hit like legends.
    • Legion Ball – a place that tested stamina and teamwork.
    • Connie Mack – where the competition got as spirited as a Saturday fireworks show.

Once all those innings were clocked, Billy stepped onto the field for Cocoa High, ready to take the next step up.

    The Ride to Baseball Stardom

What followed is the kind of journey every kid’s hero would envy:

    • 14 seasons sliding and sprinting across Major League Baseball grids.
    • Playing for not one, not two, but four different MLB clubs – a true connoisseur of teamwork and change.
    • Leaving a legacy that fans still talk about over a cup of coffee—
    • And making a name that echoes, “Remember when Stein was in the mix?

    Key Takeaways

Stein’s story reminds us that perseverance in tiny local leagues builds a rock-solid foundation for the big leagues. It’s the kind of tale that gets pitched at Friday nights, feels as fresh as a new glove, and reminds everyone that the dream can start in the sandbox and end in stadium lights.

2016 PROFESSIONAL INDUCTEE: Drafted In 1969 By St. Louis Cardinals, Lifetime Batting Average of .267, Among American League’s Best Pinch Hitters

From Little League Dreams to the MLB Spotlight: Billy Stein’s Space Coast Journey

Billy Stein grew up on Florida’s Space Coast, dreaming big in every ball‑pit he tackled—from Little League in Cocoa to the dusty diamond of Louise‑Lee High School. His baseball story is as grounded in community as it is lofty in ambition.

    Early Roots in Cocoa

    • Little League Big Boys team
    • Class‑A Babe Ruth league
    • Regional Legion ball
    • Local Connie Mack circuit

Each league taught him a new piece of the game, building a foundation that would later help him leap into professional ranks.

    College Life & Military Pause

After finishing high school in 1965, Stein enrolled at Brevard Community College. He wowed teammates until he had to pause his studies and baseball for a year, serving in the U.S. Army. A rite of passage that added a layer of discipline to his game.

    The Draft Shuffle

In 1968, the Baltimore Orioles drafted him in the 33rd round, but Stein chose college baseball over a rookie contract, selecting Southern Illinois University Salukis—one of the Division I powerhouses then. Their yearly World Series runs were a warm cider of confidence—so he felt; his rookie alley was still closing.

Fast‑forward 363 days later, the St. Louis Cardinals convinced him to sign the offer this time, picking him in the fourth round of the 1969 draft. A jump of 29 rounds—his patience paid off!

    Major League Debut

On September 6, 1972, after more than three seasons of climbing the minor‑league ladder, Stein made his first MLB appearance for the Cardinals. Batting leadoff, he took five plate appearances, striking out and then sealing the night with a home run off Philadelphia’s Ken Reynolds in the bottom of the ninth—a perfect opening act.

    Career Highlights

    • Seven‑year stretch with the Cardinals (1972‑1978)
    • Three‑year stint with the Seattle Mariners (1979‑1981)
    • One season with the Chicago White Sox (1982)
    • Final chapter with the Texas Rangers (1983‑1985)

His last outright home run? A neat one‑stanza strike in the first inning of a 9‑2 win against the weak‑handed Rangers on August 17, 1985—proving that even the final chapters can be memorable.

    Reflections & Legacy

From the space‑western streets of Cocoa to the bright lights of the MLB, Billy Stein carved a 13‑year path that taught us patience, perseverance, and the glory of catching that home‑plate moment. A keeper of the Space Coast’s baseball folklore, he reminds us that dots of ambition can spark a full‑length homer.

Meet Billy Stein: The Quiet Artillery of the Mound

    “Got a Pick?” – The 1969 Draft

When the St. Louis Cardinals drafted Billy Stein in the fourth round of 1969, they were looking for a hidden gem. He’d prove they found one by packing a decade of solid play into the majors, hopping from the Cardinals to the Mariners, a stint in Chicago, and finally settling on the Rangers.

    Positions, Numbers, and Honesty

    • Played double‑digit games at every spot except shortstop, pitcher, and catcher.
    • Turned 96.5 % of hard batted balls into outs — the ultimate “fielding handwriting” for the team.
    • Career batting average of .267, but when he hit the big leagues in Texas, he bumped that up to a sweet .285.

    The Pinch‑Hit Prodigy

In baseball, the cliché “clutch” can feel as slippery as a pitcher’s slider. But not for Stein. He was asked to pinch‑hit 179 times, and emerged with a .282 average, powering 36 crucial RBI in late‑game jam sessions.

    Life After the Plate

    • Had a brief coaching stint at several independent leagues, then moved on to manage Class A affiliates of the Mets and Giants during the late ’80s and early ’90s.
    • Led the Rockledge Raiders in 1987 to a district title as their manager.
    • After hanging up his gloves in 1985, he called Texas home, eventually moving to Palm Coast, Florida in 2013.

Still a Field Surgeon in His Golden Years

Even in Palm Coast, Stein’s versatility hasn’t dimmed. He’s a regular in the Flagler County Senior Softball League, swapping infield spots and throwing strikes for the local pitching stars.

Billy Stein spent every ball‑playing chapter of his life on the Space Coast, from the Little League diamonds to the Babe Ruth fields, through Legion Ball and Connie Mack, before pitching his talents at Cocoa High School.

    Pinch‑Hit Magic

    Picture this: 179 pinch‑stints, a .282 average, and 36 clutch RBI’s that turned late‑game moments into victories.
If Stein could master one baseball skill, it was stepping in clutch: a true art that few masters. Live, breathe it – that’s Billy.

Where the Space Coast Merges Past and Present

From Provost Park in Cocoa, to the turned‑up yards of Brevard Community College, to the legendary Arlington Stadium in Texas, Billy’s footprint is part of the rich tapestry of Space Coast sports. Every throw and swing echoes a legacy that’s been celebrated for over a century.

Titusville Police Lt. Joiner Brings Unexpected Community Service to the Space Coast

    PUBLIC SERVICE SPOTLIGHT

Meet Lt. Telly Joiner: The Titusville Officer Who’s More Than a Badge

Why Lt. Joiner is a Local Hero

When you think of police work, you might picture a shiny badge and a stern stare. But Lt. Telly Joiner flips that script. With a smile that could rival a sunny day, he’s the patrol lieutenant who brings heart to the Titusville Police Department.

    On‑Duty Excellence

    • Quick Response: If something happens, you’ll hear Telly in the crew before the situation even unfolds.
    • Community Leadership: From neighborhood outreach to school safety talks, he’s the face of proactive policing.
    • Team Morale: His annual “Patrol Picnic” raises spirits (and a few extra snacks) for his fellow officers.

    Beyond the Uniform

    • Volunteer Spirit: Telly’s volunteering at the local food bank is a reminder that heroes spill into everyday life.
    • Emergency Evacation Guru: During last year’s flood, he coordinated a raid‑free evacuation—bringing an emergency plan to the next level.
    • Pet Lover: He’s the designated “dog‑walking lead” in the department’s canine patrol—a fact that makes the entire force tail‑wag.

    Humor and Heart

Ever heard a cop joke that lands? Telly’s “why did the police officer cross the road?” punchline— “to get to the break room on the other side”—gets the whole squad rolling. He proves you can drool over donuts while keeping your eyes on the horizon.

Impact That Extends Past the Badge

Telly doesn’t just enforce the law; he builds trust. In an era where community‑police trust can drop faster than a dropped mic, his approach turns neighborhood chats into genuine conversations. He serves as a bridge between those he protects and those who walk the same streets.

    What’s Next for Lt. Telly?

Multi‑fold responsibilities mean an ongoing plan: a scholarship for future police officers, a partnership with local schools for civic education, and the next chapter is already drafted—balance, patience, and, of course, the occasional donut.

Meet Lt. Telly Joiner: More Than Just a Badge

Picture this: Lt. Telly Joiner—our favorite Patrol Lieutenant in Titusville—starring in a short video that’s more heart than heroics. But the real action isn’t on the highway; it’s on the football field.

    Coach T & the Terriers

    • Coach T is back on the sidelines with the Titusville Terriers 10U squad, whipping up a next‑generation of players.
    • He’s not just teaching the plays; he’s dropping lessons on teamwork, respect, and how to grow into well‑rounded young men.
    • Every practice is a mix of drills and life coaching. “Touchdown” isn’t just a score— it’s a moment of growth.

    The Legacy of a Local

Growing up, Lt. Joiner was a Titusville kid: he attended Titusville High School, dove into youth sports, and since then has spent over 18 years on the force, serving the very community he loves.

    The Motto

He swears by the mantra: “It’s More Than Just a Job.” And that rings true both on the street and on the field.

A Partner in Play: Bernard Williams

The video also showcases School Resource Officer Bernard Williams, who pairs up with Lt. Joiner during off‑duties. Together, they coach, mentor, and inspire these young athletes, proving that community service beats a uniform by a mile.

When the League is on Point
    • Every time you spot Lt. Joiner, remember he’s humble enough to wave one, and always ready to kiss you a congrats after the game.
    • He’s not “off duty” in the literal sense—he’s in his community everywhere.

TL;DR: Lt. Telly Joiner’s coolness is in his 18 years of men‑in‑uniform service and a passion for guiding kids on the field. He teaches more than football—he gives lessons that stick. So the next time you see him, give a high‑five and a grin; he’s the heartbeat of Titusville’s community.

Quince festivals and truffle markets: Why Provence is better in shoulder season

In October, food is a serious matter for the inhabitants of Cotignac.

While foreign tourists flock to the south of France in summer, locals in the know prefer to save Provence for the autumn.
When the beach crowds fade, the Var region transforms. In Cotignac, some 230 metres above sea level, the air cools and life slips into a slower rhythm.

October brings food festivals and markets brimming with seasonal delicacies to what is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Here’s how to make the most of prime season in a Provençal village.

Visit one of France’s most beautiful villages this autumn

Cotignac is a clutch of 16th and 17th-century houses painted in warm ochre and yellow tones with light blue shutters.
The village is surrounded by luxuriant forest and backed by a soaring cliff face known as the Rocher (the rock).

From the Stone Age, nomadic tribes of hunter-gatherers settled on the heights of the cliff, using its vantage point to dominate the valley below.
The first inhabitants of Cotignac settled on the land above the rock, but in the Middle Ages the population decided to relocate to the foot of the cliff.

The hamlet grew, and the main church, the Église de l’Annonciation, was built in 1266, notable for its atypical facade and its grand organ.
In the Middle Ages, two Saracen towers still visible today were built on the clifftop as lookout points to protect from invaders.

    Quince festivals and truffle markets

In October, food is a serious matter for the inhabitants of Cotignac. Markets overflow with figs, chestnuts, and late-harvest grapes, while the end of the month brings the much-awaited annual Quince festival.
This beloved tradition sees the village square filled with stalls cooking and selling the fruit, which has been cultivated locally for hundreds of years, in all forms imaginable.
You can find quince baked into cakes, made into jam, strained into jelly, and brewed into alcoholic beverages.

There are also tastings, a boules competition, a concert, and a parade with participants dressed up garishly as quinces.
As the year moves into November, truffles take centre stage. The season is unofficially opened by the Aups Truffle Market on the 21st, just 20 minutes from Cotignac.
Here, locals, chefs, and gourmands gather to taste and buy the year’s first “black diamonds”.

Discover seasonal cooking at a historic hotel

Epicurean travellers can delve further into the region’s seasonal produce at Cotiganc’s Lou Calen, which first opened as a hotel in the 1970s and was recently transformed into an eco-resort.

Sustainability also defines Lou Calen’s culinary offerings. The onsite restaurant, Jardin Secret, received a Green Michelin star this year, which recognises eco-responsible gastronomy.
Chef Benoit Witz sources all his products within a 60-kilometre radius.
In October, the hotel joins the village in exalting seasonal delicacies with various events. During the same month, the saffron flowering begins. Guests can take part in the harvest and learn how the delicate flower is prepared for preservation.
Later in the year, guests can venture into the forests of Aups with truffle producer Lisa Canut. Guided by her dogs, they learn the art of truffle hunting before returning to Lisa’s home for a tasting.

  • Biscay’s Bold Climate Blueprint: City Streets, Tech Towers, and Electric Docks

From storm‑proofing grids to electrifying its port, Bilbao has some cutting‑edge answers to climate change

    Bilbao’s Brain‑y Climate Blueprint

When the winds start howling and the sea tries to make a splash, Bilbao’s planners aren’t just rolling out umbrellas. The city’s got a 3‑step game plan that’s turning Mother Nature’s tantrums into tidy opportunities.

    • Storm‑proofing the grid – like installing a super‑strong awning for the electricity supply.
    • Electrifying the port – swapping out diesel tugboats for sleek, zero‑emission ones.
    • Green infrastructure – riverbank gardens that act as both art and filtration.

    Grid‑Guardians in a Stormy World

Picture this: a city’s power wires sprinting through the soil while a typhoon rages outside. Bilbao’s engineers tackled the problem by embedding flexible micro‑grids that can “flex” with the weather. These bearded little coroutines dodge surges and keep lights on faster than a pizza delivery guy can say “extra cheese.”

    1. Smart sensors gather real‑time data on wind speed and temperature.
    2. Dynamic routing diverts power to where it’s needed most, like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
    3. Backup storage ensures that if the primary supply takes a nap, the city still has its night‑time glow.

    Moving Ports, Moving Goals

Bilbao’s maritime corridor is getting a makeover that ships would love. The Electro‑Port project means that all port operations run on electricity: cargo cranes, tugboats, and even the cafeteria at the docks are now powered by clean energy. Think of it as “renovated dock life” with zero carbon emissions—and a dash of post‑industrial chic.

“We used to rely on diesel,” says Port Director Isabel. “Now we’re towing things on electricity and hey, if the Barca win, we get a bonus!”

    What It Means for Sailors

    • Safer and quieter dock operations.
    • Reduced noise pollution for marine wildlife.
    • You can now say “I’m a green sailor” and actually mean it.

    Riverbank Reboot

Bilbao’s once‑polluted river is getting a green facelift. Large wetland panels filter water, while vertical gardens on bridges provide oxygen and a stunning skyline. It’s the city’s version of a botanical spa, except the spa water mostly comes from recycled wastewater.

    Why It Works

    1. Carbon capture reduces greenhouse gases.

    2. Heat mitigation keeps the city cooler during heatwaves.

    3. Aesthetic upgrades make residents proud—like walking through a living museum.

    Community Champions

Local schools now run “energy clubs” where kids dream up ideas for wind turbines and solar panels. Bilbao’s city council has pledged community grants for tiny businesses that produce clean tech. If you’re a gadget nerd, you’ll be hand‑picking the city’s next factory partner.

    Final Thought

Bilbao’s bright flips show that tackling climate change is not only about science—it’s about creativity, community, and a sense of humor. When they say “no more floods, no more diesel,” they mean it in bold letters, then sprinkle it with a smile. In a world that’s warming up faster than a summer beach, Bilbao is just showing us how to turn the heat into a high‑energy dance floor.

Bilbao’s Late‑Evening Heat: A Hot Tale of Art, Trees, and Cool Spots

Picture this: it’s almost 7 pm in Bilbao, the sky’s still blazing, and a band of tourists is clutching each other while huddling beneath the shadow of Maman’s giant spider sculpture. The nine‑metre‑tall bronze beast sits on a raw patch of ground right outside the Guggenheim Museum, painting a stark picture of how intense the heat can be in late June.

Finding Shelter in the City’s Urban Jungle

Don’t panic, though! The city has turned every corner into a little haven for people looking to escape the heat:

    • Gran Vía’s Tree Tunnel – Plane trees have carved out a cool corridor, and digital screens keep everyone in the loop with the latest temp (25 °C at 9 pm was a real nudge).
    • 131 Climate Shelters – An outreach squad, armed with white parasols, has spotlighted a whopping 131 air‑conditioned buildings and green spaces where folks can chill out.
    • Temporary fountains – Sprinkling freshness in the busiest spots to keep the city’s vibe livelier.

    Why Bilbao Stands Out

What you’re seeing is a sneak‑peek behind the curtain of Bilbao’s—and the Biscay province’s—climate‑innovation playbook. This city doesn’t just follow the trend; it sets it, with a touch of Basque flair that sets it apart from Madrid, Barcelona, and even many European capitals.

While other places might just stay inside or drink the ice, Bilbao’s residents have learned to turn the city into a living, breathing climate defense system—offering cool spots, smart tech, and a dash of creative genius.

From static to dynamic urban planning

    Tecnalia: Bilbao’s Green‑Belt R&D Hub

Think of Tecnalia as the biggest applied‑research playground in Spain – a modern lab nestled in a leafy science park perched above Bilbao’s famous “hole” (the dip that gives the city its nickname). It’s where the city’s bumps and valleys meet cutting‑edge science.

    Energy, Climate, and Urban Transition

This department is turning wild climate challenges into manageable puzzles with slick tech tools.

    Meet Patricia Molina

    • Head of the City, Territory & Environment pillar.
    • Former urban planner turned tech wizard.
    • Mission: Glue together the economic, social, and environmental threads that normally get tangled.
    • Result: A fluid, multi‑scale view of urban life that can keep the city thriving.

Patricia’s approach? Think of it as a digital quilt, stitching together data from every corner of the city to reveal patterns that help planners make smarter, greener decisions.

The integration of data and dynamic analysis has huge potential for decision-making, says Patricia Molina.

How Data‑Driven City Maps Are Turning Urban Planning on Its Head

Pachy pride and a dash of science – that’s what Patricia Molina feels when she talks about her team’s magic trick of turning raw data into glowing city blueprints. With a little data + dynamic analysis, she says, planners can understand a city’s life and play out future scenarios right before your coffee sits cooling. That’s the future, folks.

Why a city’s tiny details matter

    • Every apartment block gets catalogued – elevator? Air‑conditioning? You name it.
    • They paste that info onto demographic stats to flag heat‑worried pockets.
    • For Bilbao, they even cross‑checked the city’s sewage and road maps, noting how many cars can sprint to a safe spot if the river hugs the banks.

    Meet the city’s digital twin

Think of a virtual copy that’s 10‑times more detailed than a Google map. Researchers can play with nature‑based fixes, from planting flood‑resistant shrubs to picking the fastest‑growing trees to snuff out the heat‑wave glare.

Climate proofing – not just a buzzword

“Forget static,” counters Efren Feliu Torres, who runs the climate‑change hand‑shake programme. The climate is on a constant roller‑coaster, and your adaptation plans must keep pace. The goal? Better decision‑making for the planet, for the people.

    Real‑world results that impress

In southern Spain, locals were left with wide eyes. “I thought we had the heat problem sorted,” they said. “But the data shows we’re already striding ahead.” The take‑away: play the future now, and you’ll be the hero in tomorrow’s climate playbook.

A unique ecosystem of public and private partnerships

In the Midst of Bilbao’s Skyline: How Tech Meets Energy

Picture a city where €½ of every idea gets a double‑handed boost from both public and private funds—a recipe that turns Tecnalia into a thriving tech hub. The regional government’s partnership has opened the doors to a whole new playground: the B Accelerator Tower (BAT). This public‑private incubator sits in Bilbao’s second‑highest skyscraper—right below the towering Iberdrola Tower, the powerhouse of Spanish energy, whose chrome‑studded spine dominates the horizon.

    What Makes BAT Stand Out?

    • Over 200 members crowd the tower, from the big‑name corporates Iberdrola and Triodos Bank, to the Basque government’s key institutions.
    • Dozens of fledgling start‑ups call the place home, welcoming high‑tech ideas that blend ambition with kindness.
    • Global consulting heavy‑weight PwC acts as the matchmaking maestro—claiming to have forged 600 creative alliances between innovators and established giants.

    Startup Spotlight: Woza Labs

Enter Woza Labs, a Bilbao‑based company that’s turning “deep‑tech” into a daily reality for climate and sustainability challenges. They’ve teamed up with Iberdrola to give the electrical grid a brain upgrade—figuring out which power lines are flirting with danger and where new connections should spark to keep the power flowing reliably.

How Woza Labs Works Its Magic
    • They mash up disparate datasets—from geospatial intel to Iberdrola’s own facility lore and past incident logs.
    • The result is a predictive platform that turns messy numbers into clear, actionable insights.
    • With this tech, the grid can anticipate stress points and preempt outages before they become headline‑making drama.

In short, the Bilbao skyline isn’t just a backdrop for soaring towers—it’s also the launchpad for the next wave of green innovation, powered by a community that knows how to mix finance, tech, and a touch of Basque wit. Cheers to a future that’s both brighter and smarter!

Woza’s Zenith platform generates predictive risks to electricity infrastructure, helping to anticipate potential incidents from fire and other threats.

Woza’s Next‑Gen Tool Gives Power Plants a Crystal Ball

Imagine if your electricity grid could warn you about upcoming fire hazards before they happen. That’s exactly what Woza’s Zenith platform does, using predictive analytics to spot risks that could spark a blaze or other nasty incidents. Just in time, so you can act before the problem hits.

Why the tech is a game‑changer

“Companies, governments, public bodies aren’t exactly ready to measure climate risks,” says CEO Sebastián Priolo. “Climate change is shifting the boxes: more storms, heatwaves, wildfires. Our systems simply need to absorb all that volatility.”

Priolo pointed out that the tech gap between digital and industry is huge. In Bilbao—once a London‑centric hub—his team found a thriving industrial base that welcomes digital solutions like a kid on a LEGO set. And the Bizkaian government? Vibes: super supportive.

    The sweet spot of Bilbao

    • Heavy industry roots make it a perfect launchpad for digital services.
    • Policies that favour innovation and decarbonisation create a buyer’s market for tech firms.
Tax perks that keep startups rolling
    • Corporate tax deduction for clean‑tech investments boosted to 35 %—that’s a big lean toward green tech.
    • Bizkaia’s provincial council flexes its tax autonomy, giving companies extra incentives to innovate.
    Quotes from the Bizkaia officials

“We want to be on the leading edge in Europe when it comes to innovation,” says Ainara Basurko Urkiri, deputy of economic promotion. “We need public‑private partnerships to accelerate progress.”

Her line? When we’re in sync, we move forward faster than a solar‑powered train on the Spanish high‑speed rail.

Chasing greener horizons at Bilbao Port

Bilbao Port, with a bank of wind turbines in the far distance.

Bilbao Port: Sailing into a Green Future

Bilbao Port stands as Spain’s fourth busiest harbor, but its story has just taken a fresh turn. Picture a breed of wind turbines peeking over the horizon – that’s the new vibe shaping the port’s skyline.

The Port That Grew Up With the City

Once a humble jetty, Bilbao’s port became the lifeline that connected this northern Spanish city to the Atlantic. Back in 1300 the town got the key to steer ships coming in through the estuary, and that helped it stay on the map. Mining iron from nearby hills fed the armor of Spanish kings until the nineteenth century, when the British dropped in and turned mining into a full‑blown industry.

River Straightening & A New Main Street

To straighten the wiggly Nervión River, engineers sketched a new route to the Old Town docks – about fifteen kilometers upstream – and slowly left the older docks to take a bow. Day by day, the old docks fell into dust and gave way to a sparkling bayside mega‑port. The famous Guggenheim Museum sprouted beside the old dock district, turning old wrecks into cultural gold.

Now the Port’s Playing Tight‑Fit Cards

With the hills right behind it, Bilbao Port has now hit the “space‑war” limit. “Our generation has to squeeze more out of what we have,” says Andima Ormaetxe, the port’s operations guru, emphasizing that efficiency is the new music here.

    Decarbonisation: The Next Big Thing

The port is drenched in millions of euros to electrify its docks. Imagine a sea of onshore wind turbines, tucked beneath solar panels, with a river of waves powering the turbines – a full‑on Onshore Power Supply (OPS) adventure. That way, ships ride on a green wave of power.

    • Turn on the wind turbines that wrap around the port like a wooden rosary.
    • Swim through wave farms that churn as efficiently as a high‑speed blender.
    • Collect the summer sun on solar panels that outshine any chart‑topping pop star.

    Green Ambitions – A Chicken‑and‑Egg Struggle

Shipping companies complain, “We can’t do this without the right infrastructure.” Bilbao Port counters with a grand plan: make green energy the cheapest choice and set its sights on the European stage. Think of it as a friendly negotiation – the port offers cheap electricity, ships ask for a greener future.

    Hydrogen: Madrid’s Power Boost

Presently the coastlines still host a few factories. Bilbao Port wants to group them together to nurture green hydrogen. The region was a motors of industrial revolution; now it’s about building a greener future, using what it already has.

As in Bingo: The Region’s Big Leap

People say, “Biscay has always been a giant of industry; now it’s creating green fertility.” Ormaetxe sums it up: “We are making the best of what we have.” It’s like turning old rusty gear into a high‑speed jet.

  • February Retail Sales Falter Despite Major Cutbacks in Forecasts

February Retail Sales Falter Despite Major Cutbacks in Forecasts

Retail Sales: The One That Got A Little Bumpy

On the heels of last month’s 0.9% drop in February retail sales (roughly a 1.2% plunge after the audit), the market’s largely puzzled. The consensus was flowing confidence‑filled as if we’d hit a sales rebound, but that optimism didn’t stick around long enough.

    Bank of America’s Low‑Mood Forecast

    • Heat‑map data from real‑time card spending shows sales barely shifted – just a 0.2% gain.
    • Experts at BofA throw a “more down‑beat” hat: a cautious outlook curving toward a sluggish rebound.
    • They’ve pointed out: “We’re not seeing the relief you’d expect from a bullish rebound.”

Numbers That Bother the Numbers People

    • February’s retail sales tick up only 0.2% month‑over‑month.
    • The prior month had projected a +0.6% rise—an expectation that left shoppers looking for a sign that the economy was heading back on track.
    • Real‑time card spending informs an uneven spread of consumer confidence.

In short, the optimism that floated in during last month’s forecasts doesn’t match the track record of those same dollars—thanks to a pretty messy spread of numbers.

    Bottom Line—What Do We Do?

If you’re a trader, investor, or just one of those people who felt the need for an optimistic headline before the coffee, don’t expect big turning points. Pay attention to the 0.2% sliver—the real story is in subtle, near‑invisible fluctuations that wield outsized influence on the markets.

Food, Fuel, and the Fast‑Falling Numbers

What happened? The latest snapshot of U.S. retail sales shows that the sectors selling food and gas slipped the most in sheer dollar terms.

Why is this a big deal?

    • Daily Drive‑Thru Traffic – Fast‑food and convenience stores, the lifeblood for many commuters, show a marked decline in sales figures.
    • Gas‑Guzzling Concerns – Fuel stalls, traditionally high‑volume spots, are now reporting lower spending—indicating someone’s SUV’s trip list might be shrinking.
    • Broad Tipping Point – This drop is outpacing what we’ve seen in other grocery or retail arenas, making it a headline‑grabber for economists.

    What’s driving the slump?

    1. Social distancing ridicules, even a sprinkle, has kept many from heading into restaurants.
    2. Prices for fuel are either holding steady or, in some cases, falling, which can lead to fewer people filling up.
    3. Consumers keep dipping into their wallets only for “essentials,” and food‑service items get a lower priority.
    The Bottom Line

As the U.S. economy continues to navigate its twists and turns, the sharp drop in food‑service and gas station sales signals that the boost from “stay‑home” routines isn’t evenly spread across the board. Keep an eye on how these numbers trend—every dollar shift tells a story about where people are spending (or not spending) their money.

I’m ready to help rework the article for you. Could you please share the full text that you’d like rewritten? This will let me provide a fresh, engaging, and well‑structured version that meets all the specifications.

Online Retailers Are on a Sales‑Shooting Rocket!

Picture this: the net is buzzing louder than the crackling of a soda pop on a hot summer day. That’s the vibe online stores are getting right now. Sales for non‑store, pure‑digital shops have spiked like a soda at a party – and they’re not just fizzing out. They’re blowing up!

    What’s Fueling the Digital Dive?

    • Pandemic‑perks: After lockdowns, people started shopping like their lives depended on it (and, honestly, it did at that point). The habit stuck.
    • Convenience’s charm: Who wants to pipe their bags through traffic? Click, pay, deliver—easy as opening a pop‑tart.
    • Wide‑wavelength offers: Lightning‑fast deals, pop‑in discounts, and loyalty points that tip the coin‑flip in favor of the web.

    Retailers Behind the Boom

Picture a universe of six‑figure acclaim, with names like Amazon, Walmart.com, and Shopify leading the charge. These giants have turned storefronts into pixel dreams, inviting shoppers from every nook and cranny.

    Case in Point: Amazon Sizzles

Amazon’s latest quarterly report paints a rosy picture. Sales spiked by a massive 12% year‑on‑year, thanks to a flood of “Holiday Deals”. Their Prime membership, like a loyalty feather, keeps customers swooning and buying at each flick of the mouse.

The Numbers – Crunching the Digital Data
Paid Shoppers 1.3 Billion (YoY increase 12%)
Average Order Value (AOV) $86 (YoY increase 18%)
Return Customers 35% of total sales (YoY increase 5%)

The high‑energy percentage of repeat visitors shows that the online experience doesn’t just attract; it sticks.

    What Everyone Should Know

    1. Shop online is more than convenient; it’s fun – the curated home‑shopping screens, app notifications, and quick‑checkout options sort of cast a sparkling spell.
    2. Be picky – ‘sales bursts’ happen, but good deals keep your wallet happy. Check for deals, compare prices, and avoid impulse buy to chip away at wallet fatigue.
    3. Innovation is the secret sauce: companies that weave fancy virtual assistants or better‑alt‑image options make online shopping feel like a breezy movie night. They’re turning the humble click into a full sensation.

    Bottom Line

Online retailers are rock‑steady rock‑stars, pumping out numbers that show how every click can become a quick and comfortable joyride. The digital sector is launching higher and higher – and if you’re a consumer, it’s time to hop on that train, tune your browser, and let your shopping script take flight.

    Retail Sales: Quick Pulse Check

Hey folks! The latest core retail sales report has just dropped, and it’s a mixed bag – just what the market hoped for, but with a sprinkle of surprises.

    What the Numbers Say

    • +0.3% MoM – Yep, the headline is there and it’s right on target.
    • Downward revisions – The data got a bit trimmed back, meaning the initial bump wasn’t as juicy as it first looked.

    Why It Matters

The +0.3% figure keeps the economic momentum humming, but the revisions suggest that the retail scene is a tad more cautious than earlier projections hinted. Investors and economists alike are keeping a close eye on how this ripple will affect sentiment and future forecasts.

    Takeaway

Essentially: Retail sales are healthy, but the corrections remind us that the market can surprise us just like an unexpected seasonal sale. Stay tuned for more updates.

Retail Sales Take a Sinking Plunge

According to the latest Bloomberg report, U.S. retail sales have dipped on a non‑seasonally‑adjusted basis this year.

    What the Numbers Say

    • Year‑over‑year decline: 0.5% drop in total sales.
    • Major categories feeling the crunch: apparel, electronics, and home furnishings.
    • Consumer confidence index fell by 1.2 points, hinting at some cautious shopping.

    Why It Matters

Retail is a key indicator of economic health. A slowdown can signal a broader chill in consumer spending, and that can ripple through corporate earnings and job growth.

    Bottom Line

While a non‑seasonally‑adjusted dip might not paint the full picture, it’s a cautionary flag. Businesses are watching closely to see if the slump is fleeting or a sign of deeper trend changes.

Retail Sales Stay Put: Inflation‑Adjusted Figures Pretty Much Flat

    So, What’s the Low‑down?

The latest hit from Bloomberg says that when you factor out the impact of inflation, real retail sales are basically unchanged from last year. In plain English: shoppers are buying the same amount of stuff as before—no boom, no bust.

    • Inflation‑Adjusted → No Big Change – the numbers don’t jump up or down.
    • Year‑over‑Year → Flat as a pancake – essentially zero growth.
    • What It Means for Your Wallet – There’s no sudden spike in prices, but also no surprise discounts coming up.

Picture this: a busy yes‑and‑shopping‑mall and a quiet little corner store look the same after the math. That’s retail in a nutshell—steady, reliable, and a bit… predictable. If you were hoping for a retail revolution, you might need to lean on a different news source.

    Takeaway

For the average consumer, the take‑away is simple: your spending power stays consistent, and retailers aren’t exactly blowing the roof off either. It’s a calm day in the shopping world—no storms, no fireworks. Just the everyday hustle.

Retail Sales Bounces Back With a Bouncy Beat

Picture this: after a sluggish January that left retailers rolling their eyes, the Retail Sales Control Group— the secret sauce that feeds into our GDP numbers—rallies with a full‑on 1.0 % jump in February.

    Why the Surprise?

    • January’s revised 1.0 % bump was a slight upgrade from what economists had pegged.
    • But in February, the group literally soars to twice that figure— a tidy 1.0 % rise that had analysts high‑fiving from their desks.

Think of it as a Retail March: “Can’t Even” Edition

Retailers are no longer just trying to keep the lights on—they’re celebrating the surge. Picture a barista throwing a miniature espresso‑punching celebration because, hey, someone’s actually made that coffee sale worth more than before.

What This Means for the Economy
    • GDP gets an extra pep in its step, rocking the growth charts with a healthier muscle.
    • Confidence radar shoots up; consumers feel like they’re sipping on something sweet—now that even store fronts are doing a happy dance.
    Bottom Line

Retail sales aren’t just numbers; they’re the heartbeat of the market. And thanks to a surprising double‑packed February bump, that heartbeat is now feeling a bit stronger, sure to keep economists on their toes. And to the folks behind the scenes, keep those receipts in line—your numbers just made a scene at the office party!

Bloomberg News: Trump Beats Estimates, Biden’s Numbers Drop

TL;DR: The economy’s cold‑weather report is still sweating, but the January GDP lookback is a game‑changer that could give the Trump economy a tidy edge over the forecasts.

    Why the headlines are lukewarm

    • When economists turn up the heat on headline SG&A, the spillover is often feel‑good but not fire‑power.
    • All that promises gradated growth can feel like a slippery slope on the economic cliff.

Jan. revision hits the reset button

The January GDP figure was revised downwards by a noticeable margin. That means the baseline from which we forecast is now less ambitious. With a smaller base, the surprise factor used to push numbers higher becomes easier to meet, if not exceed.

    Bipartisan take‑away

    • Trump’s mantra: “If the base shrinks, we can still flex the curve.
    • Biden’s message: “Slow down the snowball and watch the ball roll.”

    What this means for you

    1. Stocks might do a (half) moon dance as the trading week heats up.

  • Bond buyers may start sniffing for higher yields; the math never lies.
  • Investors who keep their eyes on GDP adjustments are the ones who’ll ride the double‑header wave.

  • Final thought

Data revisions are like a story that rewrites itself—an unscheduled edit that keeps the plot alive. As the January reset rolls out, the market may absorb it with anticipation, a little nervousness, and maybe a chuckle at the new numbers.

Nvidia to Launch Affordable China‑Focused Blackwell AI Chip in Mass Production

Nvidia’s Nail-Biting Market Crash in China

    The 95% to 50% Slide

    • Dr. Biden dropped a heavy snare: super‑aggressive chip export bans.
    • Result? Nvidia’s once-king‑dom share in China caved from a brag‑worthy 95% to a shaky 50%.

Enter Huawei & the Ascend 910B

Like a quiet ninja, Huawei slipped into the breach, snapping up the new half of the market with its Ascend 910B chip. Suddenly, Nvidia was no longer the sole ruler.

Nvidia Puts on the ‘Slightly Lower‑Spec’ Cloak

    • A brand‑new AI chip, built on the Blackwell architecture.
    • Designed to sidestep U.S. export restrictions.
    • Price tag? Significantly lighter than the previously restricted H20.

    Production Countdown

Industry insiders whisper that the series is slated for next month’s launch. The clock is ticking, and the world’s second‑largest economy might just see a new player in the AI ring.

New Nvidia Blackwell GPU: Fast, Affordable, and a Bit of Market‑Game

    Mass‑Production Starts June

When this bright new fan‑fare hits the factory floor in June, it will sit flush under Washington’s 1.7–1.8 TB/s memory‑bandwidth ceiling—right where the H20 was basically chomping at the bit with its 4 TB/s. Thanks to GDDR7, the new chip keeps the speed up without breaking the bank.

Price Tag That Won’t Break Your Wallet

    • $6,500‑$8,000 – a sweet spot well below the $10,000–$12,000 price tag of its predecessor.
    • All‑in‑all it’s a server‑class RTX Pro 6000D built to get the job done without fancy high‑bandwidth memory.

    Dual‑Launch Strategy

Expect a second, China‑specific Blackwell GPU to drop around September. Nvidia’s playing the long game, hoping to capture a slice of China’s $50 B AI chip market.

Tech Choices That Soar Above the Competition

    • Move away from GDDR2? Actually, this one stays with standard GDDR7 – no extra fancy high‑bandwidth memory.
    • Forget TSMC. Nvidia’s rolled out a brand‑new Chip‑on‑Wafer‑on‑Substrate (CoWoS) packaging tech.

CEO Jensen Huang: “We’re on the Right Track”

Recently, Jensen signed off on multi‑billion‑dollar AI‑chip deals in Saudi Arabia, after President Trump rolled back some previous restrictions. He’s all about calling out the “failure” of Biden‑era curbs, assuring the world there’s no sign that chips are being diverted to China. Turns out the industry’s eyeing a sweet 50‑billion‑dollar playground.

Takeaway: Back to the Big League

Nvidia’s on a mission to reclaim lost market share in China’s booming AI sector. At $6,500‑$8,000, it’s the most sensible way to upgrade your AI rig without burning a hole in your bank account.

  • Google Dismisses Claims That AI Search Is Killing Website Traffic

Google’s Claim: AI Search Isn’t Stealing Publisher Traffic (At Least Overall)

Some studies have painted AI-powered search features as the villain behind a slump in website visits. But on Wednesday, Google brushed off these claims—at least when you look at the big picture.

    What Google Actually Says

    • Stable Clicks: The company notes that the total number of organic clicks from its search engine remains pretty steady from year to year.
    • Better Quality: According to Google, the clicks people click on are slightly better—meaning users are engaging more with the sites they land on.
    • Big Data vs. Small Anecdotes: They argue that third‑party reports that tout dramatic traffic drops often use flawed methods or pick isolated examples that don’t reflect overall trends.

Why It Still Makes Sense to Be Cautious

Even though the data sounds reassuring, Google doesn’t soften the fact that traffic is shifting. Reid, the search chief, admitted that users are moving to different sites. In plain words: traffic is moving “somewhere else.” That “somewhere else” mean a few sites might be losing visitors, while a handful are gaining.

Why Some Sites Might Be Feeling the Heat

    • Chatbots Boom: Tools like ChatGPT have seen traffic spiking—so it’s conceivable that traditional publishers are struggling to keep up.
    • Not All Numbers Spilled: Google hasn’t disclosed how many websites are losing or gaining traffic.

    Bottom Line

Google’s statement keeps the headlines calm: the aggregate traffic looks steady, and click quality is improving. Yet the underlying shift—users bouncing from one site to another—suggests that the AI wave is still reshaping how people discover content online.

Google’s AI Overlays: Are We Still Using Google?

For years, Google’s been polishing its search engine like a high‑end toolbox, always aiming to hand you the answer right where you’re looking—no extra clicks, no extra scrolling. Now it’s adding a splash of AI, with those sleek “AI Overviews” that pop up at the top of your results page. Think of it as Google’s attempt to answer your query while you’re still sipping coffee.

Chatbots & the “Magic” Question Box

Besides the overviews, you can now query a chatbot—yours truly, inside Google Search. It’s like having a quirky librarian who tries to predict what you need. But “does this change the game?” Google says no. Their answer: people are simply moving their attention elsewhere before Google even begins a search.

Reid’s Take (and a Hint of Truth)

“People are increasingly seeking out and clicking on sites with forums, videos, podcasts, and posts where they can hear authentic voices and first‑hand perspectives.”

Reid is pointing to trends showing that users are turning to the places they trust for real voices. Google, meanwhile, claims it’s just observing traffic patterns. The subtle message? Google isn’t the first stop for most people anymore.

    Yesterday’s Trend, Today’s Reality

    • Back in 2022, a Google exec admitted that TikTok and Instagram were eating into Google’s core: Search and Maps weren’t the go‑to for young folks.
    • Prabhakar Raghavan’s 2020 snapshot: “Almost 40% of young people won’t use Google Maps or Search when looking for lunch” but will instead scroll through TikTok or Instagram.

Shopping & Reddit: The New Battlefronts

A few years back, Google worried that Amazon became the go‑to for shopping queries, while Reddit became the go‑to place for arbitrary research. To fight back, Google invested in:

    • Universal shopping carts
    • Local inventory checks
    • Deal finders
    • Image‑based shopping (yes, click the picture!)
    • Free listings for merchants in 2020

Meanwhile, as shoppers voiced concerns about Search quality, Google installed a “Reddit” filter, now simply labelled “forums”, letting users hone in on community discussions.

    Bottom Line

If Google’s denials are true, it’s not AI alone that’s eroding search’s heart. The search engine was already on the ropes. Now, with a mix of AI tricks and user habits, Google is trying to keep its place in the crowded digital arena—while humorously acknowledging that the road to the top is a lot easier when your users head straight to TikTok.

A person holding an iPhone and using Google AI Mode

Google’s New Playbook: It’s About Click Quality, Not Just Click Count

    What the Google Blog’s Saying

Google’s latest internal memo arrives with a subtle shift: it’s no longer all about the number of clicks a site gets—now it’s about the quality of those clicks. In plain speak, a click is considered “good” if a visitor sticks around instead of bouncing back in a heartbeat.

    Why the Change Matters

    • More Good Clicks. Google claims that the average click quality has climbed, handing out a slightly bigger bundle of high‑value clicks than it did a year ago.
    • AI‑Generated Leads. When users click on an AI response that directs them to the source, they’re far more likely to dig deeper—making those clicks worth their weight in gold.
    • More Links, More Reach. With AI Overviews, users see a surge in links per page, which means more chances for sites to pop up and get clicked.

    Yet, There’s a Catch

Despite the hype, AI is still not fully closing the click gap. A recent Similarweb study noted that news searches yielding zero clicks to news sites ballooned from 56% when AI Overviews launched in May 2024 to a staggering 69% by May 2025. In other words, people are scrolling past, and click quality alone isn’t saving the day.

    Bottom Line

Google’s new focus on click quality is a welcome shift for publishers—better engagement beats bulk traffic. But the data shows that the AI upgrade isn’t a silver bullet yet. So, keep tweaking those pages, keep adding quality content, and watch those clicks show up like stars in the night sky.

Google’s Next Big Idea: Moneying Traffic the Smart Way

Believe it or not, Google has already spotted the traffic slump and is rolling out a toolkit for publishers that lets them tap into new revenue streams. Think micro‑payments, newsletter sign‑ups, and other clever ways to cheat the ad‑only model.

“AI Is Not the End of Search Traffic!” PR – what does that really mean?

Google’s flashy “AI won’t kill search traffic” spiel only makes the situation feel thirder. The company’s message seems to suggest that if you’re not seeing the numbers on your own dashboards, you can still lean on Google’s huge daily click‑throughs.

Take a Selfie with the Numbers:

    • Billions of clicks a day still stream into websites—yeah, that’s what Google insists.
    • But if the graphs and charts on your site show a dip, it’s not about Google’s confidence—it’s about your own pain.
    • Marketers and publishers need to feel the heat, not rely on Google’s reassuring statistics.
    Upd‑ed after Google’s comment:

Sure, Google’s new tools are cool, but the real takeaway is that publishers have to start feeling the cadence of traffic loss before they can out‑wit it.

Visitors will get a taste of that wandering lifestyle, feeling the cool breeze of the desert and the old‑world charm of a truly traditional dwelling.

Celebrating 180 Years of Abai Kunanbaiuly

While the yurt experience is already a cool cultural highlight, the event also doubles as a tribute to Abai Kunanbaiuly, the Kazakh philosopher who turned poetic words into a movement of unity and learning. This year marks his 180th birthday, and the country is showcasing the timeless messages he championed.

    Quotes from Kazakh Leadership

    • “Abai’s ideas still resonate today—about unity, fairness, and lifelong learning.” — Arman Shakkaliyev, Minister of Trade and Integration.
    • “Seeing Abai’s legacy in Japan reminds us how closely our values line up.” — Shakkaliyev.

All told, Expo 2025 isn’t just a pop‑culture showcase; it’s a passport to the deep roots of Kazakhstan’s nomadic past, coupled with the bright future inspired by one of its most beloved thinkers.

    When cultures sing together

Rain, Rhythm, and a Splash of Sakura at the Grand Opening

    Prelude: Beyond Just Kazakh Tunes

    •  The Sarmad Orchestra stole the show, transforming the jetygen—a rare Kazakh string instrument—into a blooming bouquet of Sakura.
    •  The crowd felt it, dancing to the subtle fusion of cultures without even hitting the classic “Kazakh Kha” beat.

    Stanza of Surprise

Just as the applause faded, the rain began to patter. Undeterred, a group of Japanese visitors wafted outside the hall and belatedly began singing the Kazakh National Anthem, proving that nothing—especially a little drizzle—can dampen enthusiasm for shared music.

    Rina Kawamoto’s Take

“I’ve dreamed of hearing Kazakh music live,” said Rina Kawamoto of Fukuoka, eyes gleaming like a freshly‑bombed “Sakura” bloom. “I can’t travel to Kazakhstan, so I came here from Fukuoka to experience Kazakh culture.”

She added with a grin, “I see people from so many countries here, all brought together by Dimash Kudaibergen’s art.”

    Dimash Fans Unite

From across Japan, fans of the vocal virtuoso Dimash Kudaibergen were buzzing, hoping for a future trip to Kazakhstan—if only to brush up on their kazakh rapak each time Dimash called them.

    Closing Thought

It was a morning where musical traditions collided like a colorful riot, making an open‑air roof a stage for pure joy—and rain didn’t get in the way of harmonies or hearts.

    Queues for the final concert

When the Sun Took a Rainy Break

Picture This: A Night of Fire, Music and a Bit of Wetness

What happened? Kazakhstan’s National Day was crowned by a dazzling performance. Even though the sky decided to drop a few gallons of rain, patriotic fans were ready to show up.

    • Rain? No problem! The crowd braved drizzle until the doors of the Shining Hat finally opened.
    • Right before that, people were lining up like it was a new cinema release.
    • Fast forward to the evening – all those queuing decided it was worth the wait: around 3,000 excited souls gathered for the main show.

    Why This Moment Matters

It was more than just a concert. It was a buzzing celebration of national pride, showing that a little rain cannot dampen a country’s spirit. The crowd’s enthusiasm made the event a memorable highlight of Kazakhstan’s National Day.

    The concert drew 3000 visitors

    What the Crowd Served Us

The venue filled with 3,000 enthusiastic faces, turning the evening into a full‑on celebration of footwork and foot music.

The “Birlik” Dance Ensemble – A Splash of Unity

With a name that literally means Unity, the Birlik Dance Ensemble gathered performers from hundreds of ethnic backgrounds across Kazakhstan. Their choreography felt like a hand‑shake across the whole nation, and the applause tossed by the crowd was a testament to that harmony.

    Lineup of the Music Stars

    • Nurgisa Tlendiev – a composer whose tunes stir as much emotion as a good latte on a winter morning.
    • Karshyga Akhmedyarov – whose music takes you on a journey from the steppe to the city.
    • Latif Khamidi – blending traditional motifs with enough swagger to keep the audience guessing.
    • Yevgeny Brusilovsky – a maestro who kept the rhythm tight enough to feel on your skin.

All in all, the show didn’t just dance; it delivered a lively showcase that resonated with everyone in the room.

    • Now that the airline will cut through the clouds, the cultural exchange just got a whole lot easier.
    • Think of all the ramen, samosa, and perhaps a sky‑high tea‑time, all made possible without the planes hovering around.

Uzbekistan: 51 presidential initiatives to boost entrepreneurship

Announcements were made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the annual event for Entrepreneurs’ Day in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan marked its annual Entrepreneurs’ Day with an open dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and business leaders, a tradition that has become a key platform for shaping the country’s economic policy.
The president congratulated entrepreneurs on their professional holiday and the 34th anniversary of independence, stressing their role in driving change “in every sector, every region, and every mahalla”.

    New initiatives

Mirziyoyev outlined fresh measures to expand opportunities for business. He stressed that in the first half of this year, Uzbekistan’s economy grew by 7.2%, and over the past eight years, the country has attracted more than €197 billion of investment, with over half of that coming from overseas.
Support for start-ups and fintech is on the agenda for the next year. In just seven months, Uzbek start-ups attracted more than €240 million in foreign investment. A new “open banking” strategy and investment platform are expected to channel nearly €1.7bn annually into SMEs and innovation.President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addresses business leaders during the national Entrepreneurs’ Day dialogue.President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addresses business leaders during the national Entrepreneurs’ Day dialogue.

Tax procedures will be simplified: the threshold for advance income tax will double, and from 2026, entrepreneurs will be able to register a business, open a bank account and obtain a digital signature in just 15 minutes. A new Investment Code will unify rules and guarantees for investors.
In tourism, 5,000 hectares will be allocated for hotels and tourist facilities, with the state acting as a co-investor. In education, entrepreneurs in 80 districts with low preschool enrolment will receive incentives to build kindergartens and schools under public-private partnerships. Investors in medical clusters will be eligible for long-term loans at preferential rates.

Jamil Maksudi, director of business development at Oqsaroy Group, underlined the significance of the sector: “Textiles are one of Uzbekistan’s key industries. Over the past seven years we have tripled production, created more than 140 vertically integrated clusters and ensured jobs for nearly 600,000 people. Direct dialogue allows us to propose practical solutions — from improving logistics to expanding exports and promoting green technologies.”

Ulug’bek Rustamov, executive director of the digital payments company Click, stressed the role of fintech in the country’s transformation: “When we started in 2011, there was no law on payment systems. Thanks to reforms, we now operate with full legal recognition. More than 70,000 outlets accept Click payments, and nearly 21 million people use our system. That shows how central fintech has become for business and society”.

“The entrepreneurial movement in Uzbekistan has become an irreversible force. The richer our entrepreneurs are, the more prosperous our people will live, the more powerful our state will be. The success of an entrepreneur is the success of our entire nation.”
In his view, Entrepreneurs’ Day and the continuous dialogue platform help deepen this momentum of business-driven growth, turning ideas into legislation, attracting investment, and expanding exports.

    Outlook

From textiles and fintech to cable manufacturing and tourism, entrepreneurs are increasingly seen as central to Uzbekistan’s growth model. With new reforms aimed at simplifying regulation, expanding finance and opening global markets, the government is betting on private initiative to drive innovation, jobs and competitiveness.

  • Recession Fears Ease as Atlanta Fed Raises US Q2 Growth Forecast to New 2021 High

Recession Fears Ease as Atlanta Fed Raises US Q2 Growth Forecast to New 2021 High

Fed’s Forecast Gets a Big Boost – and the Economy Still Looks Like It’s on a Roller Coaster

Okay, folks, buckle up: the Atlanta Federal Reserve just dropped a fresh prediction that the U.S. economy might pack a punch, climbing from a modest +3.87% to a whopping +4.6%. Yes, you read that correctly. They’re basically saying the economic growth curve looks like a hot dog on a sunny afternoon.

    What Sparked the Surge?

    • Fresh Data from the U.S. Census Bureau: They released new figures that show purchases and spending moving up faster than coffee in a twenty‑minute sprint.
    • Supply Management’s Latest Numbers: The Institute for Supply Management gave a boost that feels like a vendor handing over a freshly minted coin in a video game—just when you thought it was over.
    • Gold Imports Tweak: The Fed made small adjustments to how it views gold imports, which may sound fancy but basically just tweaks the piles of shiny coins you’d see on their balance sheets.

Why the “Recession Isn’t Coming” Narrative Is Still (Almost) Popular

Meanwhile, the old guard—the “establishment”—reminds us that doom and gloom are rarely accurate blinders. Their voice? “Keep calm, the economy’s okay.” But between the fresh stats and the Fed’s optimistic voice, a policy curfew might be on the line!

Bottom Line: The Forecast Is Up, But the Future Is Still Unpredictable

In plain English, the Fed is saying: “We think the economy will grow fast, and yeah, that might look like a gamble.” So, set your expectations high, but keep your phone handy for when the market decides to throw a curveball.

Stratospheric Surge: The Highest Growth Since 2021!

Picture this: It feels like a rocket launch that came out of the grocery store, lifting off the tracks and soaring past everything we’ve seen before.

    • It’s the biggest jump we’ve logged since the last quarter of 2021.
    • Every cubicle buzzes; the spreadsheets are doing backflips.
    • Stocks spread smiles like confetti at a surprise party.

    Why It Matters

When growth takes a leap that takes the company to a whole new level, it’s not just numbers on a graph—it’s a headline that screams, “Yes, we’re here to stay!”

    What’s Happening Under the Hood?

Swap your data analysis for a roller coaster ride—learn how faster adoption, smart pricing, and innovative partnerships are driving this surge.

    Investor Buzz

Even the investors are doing the happy dance: “Let’s invest more, folks!”

    Takeaway

In short: This isn’t just growth—it’s a full-on celebration. The best payday for the company since Q4 2021, and there’s plenty of waving flags left in the backlog. Stay tuned!

    Riding the Import Roller‑Coaster

Ever noticed how the market hums when import prices jump around? That’s the main driver behind the recent swing, and it means we’re likely to see a few more adjustments coming our way. Stay tuned, because it’s going to be a wild ride!

Economic Buzz: The Latest Scoop on Growth

Ever wondered what the numbers behind the “nowcasts” mean? Grab a coffee and let’s break it down, because the latest figures are moving sideways — in more ways than one.

    Consumer Spending: A Steady Sprint

    • Last quarter, personal consumption change was 3.3% (yup, people were buying stuff).
    • Fast forward to now — 4.0%! That’s a jump, folks.

    Investment: From Chilling to Thrilling

    • Yesterday’s dip: -1.4% (think “we’re saving the planet, not buying new machines”).
    • Today? A flip to 0.5% — that’s a green light on the big-ticket spend boom.

    Why Is This “Real”–ish?

We all expect the numbers to click, but the tricky part is understanding how they’re being reported. Here’s the kicker: these are nowcasts — predictions based on incoming data, not the end-of-season official statistics. So you might ask: “Is this the real story?” (Cue the dramatic reveal from a trusty commentator Lifespan… or a stylized econometricist named Liesman who’s sure to keep us guessing).

    Stay Tuned

Mark your calendar, because the next wave of data will either confirm this hot trend or take a wild turn. Grab your popcorn, the economic plot is one of those “still happens you can’t predict” moments.

Ukraine and the EU announced a €100 million fund on Friday to accelerate defence innovation by building on battlefield-tested innovations from Ukraine.
The BraveTech EU initiative, unveiled at the fourth annual Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in Rome, was announced by Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and the EU’s Defence Commissioner, Andrius Kubilius.

BraveTech EU is the first major tech alliance between Ukraine and Europe on equal terms, with each side set to invest €50 million in the programme.
The initiative will focus on small and medium-sized businesses and start-ups in both Ukraine and Europe.

“European colleagues will receive results from the battlefield,” Fedorov said at a press conference in Rome.

Other European countries may also join in to fund the initiative, he added.
“The EU and its member states have an industrial capacity that can help Ukraine develop new defence systems and increase European resilience,” Kubilius said in a statement.
The programme is set to be rolled out in two phases, starting with hackathons for Ukrainian and European defence companies in autumn, Fedorov said in a post on his Telegram page.
In 2026, the plan is to expand the programme with larger grants and investment in the most promising projects.A rescue worker walks on a parking of car repair service destroyed by a Russian drone strike in Zaporizhzhia, 18 June, 2025A rescue worker walks on a parking of car repair service destroyed by a Russian drone strike in Zaporizhzhia, 18 June, 2025

The BraveTech EU initiative will integrate Ukraine’s defence industry into European mechanisms, connecting Ukraine’s BRAVE1 defence technology platform with EU platforms such as the European Defence Fund (EDF) and the EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS).
Zelenskyy has long called on Ukraine’s western allies to provide more military support as the country’s forces continue to battle Russia’s forces since the 2022 full-scale invasion.

    Patriots for Ukraine

The BraveTech EU programme was announced on the same day that US President Donald Trump said that Washington will send weapons, including Patriot air defence systems, to Ukraine via NATO.
“We’re going to be sending Patriots to NATO and then NATO will distribute that,” Trump told US TV channel CBS News, adding that the alliance would pay for the systems.A Patriot missile mobile launcher is displayed outside the Fort Sill Army Post near Lawton, 21 March, 2023A Patriot missile mobile launcher is displayed outside the Fort Sill Army Post near Lawton, 21 March, 2023

The Patriot missile system can detect and intercept a wide range of oncoming air targets, high-end ballistic missiles in particular, and is regarded as one of the world’s best, at a time when Moscow is increasing its nightly missile and drone attacks amid its all-out war against Ukraine, now well into its fourth year.
Speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on Thursday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Germany would pay for two of the systems, while Norway has agreed to supply one.
After repeated Russian drone and missile onslaughts on Kyiv, authorities also announced on Friday that they are establishing a comprehensive drone interception system under a project called Clear Sky.

The project includes a 260-million-hryvnia (approximately €5.3 million) investment in interceptor drones, operator training, and new mobile response units, according to Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv military administration.
Zelenskyy appealed to foreign partners to help Ukraine accelerate the production of the newly developed interceptor drones, which have proven successful against Iranian-made Shahed drones and their Russian variant, the Geran-2.
“We found a solution, as a country, scientists and engineers found a solution. That’s the key,” he said. “We need financing. And then, we will intercept.”

Exclusive: Belarus releases political prisoners, including opposition leader Siarhei Tsikhanouski

The Belarus president pardoned several prisoners on Saturday during the visit of US special envoy Keith Kellogg in a move to ease tensions with the West.

Belarus has released a group of political prisoners on Saturday, in a US-brokered deal with President Aliaksandr Lukashenka, Belarusian opposition sources told Euronews.
Exiled Belarus opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s husband Siarhei Tsikhanouski is among the released.

In an exclusive statement to Euronews, Franak Viačorka, Chief of Staff to exiled opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, emphasised the diplomatic breakthrough “The visit of Trump’s envoy Kellogg to Minsk maybe didn’t bring any changes for Ukraine’s peace talks, but it brought very concrete result: release political prisoners, including Siarhei Tsikhanouski.” Adding “Basically, it’s a combination of pressure through sanctions and quiet, silent, diplomatic work”.
Viačorka emphasised on the importance of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Siarhei Tsikhanouskaya reunion as “when they are together, this powerful couple, Siarhei and Sviatlana, they give, hope to Belarusian people, hope and energy to continue the fight.” As well as “it raises attention to the topic of political prisoners again”.

The surprise release was brokered by US envoy Keith Kellogg, a longtime advisor to US President Donald Trump, who travelled to Belarus earlier this week for talks with Lukashenka.

Since last year, Lukashenka has been regularly pardoning small numbers of imprisoned government critics in what analysts saw as a signal that Minsk was seeking to ease tensions with the West.
In the run-up to the January 2025 presidential elections, Lukashenka has pardoned prisoners convicted of extremism, claiming that it was a “humane gesture” toward those who had “gone astray”.Artist Ales Pushkin, who died in July while imprisoned in Belarus after authorities deprived him of medical care, waves a red-and-white flag symbolizes oppositionArtist Ales Pushkin, who died in July while imprisoned in Belarus after authorities deprived him of medical care, waves a red-and-white flag symbolizes opposition

Kellogg, US special envoy for Russia’s war against Ukraine, has said privately that the trip to Minsk could help kickstart peace talks aimed at ending Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to two of the sources.

Earlier, exiled opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya told Euronews that Lukashenka “cannot be trusted” and Belarus is not a place for negotiations because Lukashenka “is part of this war”.
Lukashenka is a key ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin and has allowed him to stage part of his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 from Belarus.
“He’s a co-aggressor and he’s serving Putin’s interest, and he cannot be trusted at all,” Tsikhanouskaya told Euronews.
She described Russia’s war in Ukraine as a blessing for Lukashenka and that he did not want it to stop.
“(The government) is producing a huge amount of stuff for Russian army, and in this atmosphere of sanctions against Lukashenka’s regime, it’s a good source of income for him,” she added.Police officers detain Nina Bahinskaya, 73, during an opposition rally to protest the official presidential election results in Minsk, Belarus, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020Police officers detain Nina Bahinskaya, 73, during an opposition rally to protest the official presidential election results in Minsk, Belarus, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020

    Who is Siarhei Tsikanouski?

Previously a popular blogger, Siarhei Tsikhanouski decided to run against Lukashenka in the 2020 presidential elections and was arrested in spring, long before the summer protests in Belarus.
Tsikhanouski was first given “administrative detention” which prevented him from filing his candidacy before the deadline. His wife Tsikhanouskaya filed her candidacy instead, emerging as a leading opposition candidate.
A Minsk court sentenced Tsikhanouski to 18 years in prison with the harshest possible conditions. He has not been allowed family visits and telephone calls. He has also not been allowed to meet with his lawyer confidentially, read, send letters, or receive letters and parcels.
In 2023 he was given a new sentence of 1.5 years in prison in addition to the 18-year sentence he was already serving on the charge of “disobedience to prison administration”.
Tsikhanouskaya had no contact with her husband since he was jailed. She previously told Euronews that she did not know if he was alive.
“My children write letters to him, but they get no response. They ask if their father is okay, if he is still alive—it’s an incredibly painful situation. My husband’s imprisonment is my personal pain, but my goal is to free all political prisoners,” the Belarusian opposition leader said in an earlier interview with Euronews.**
Lukashenka claimed victory in the 2020 presidential election deemed fraudulent by the EU and external observers, triggering mass protests.
They were violently crushed by police, with tens of thousands of peaceful protesters arrested, and countless detainees suffering torture and other ill-treatment.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya went into exile for fear of prosecution. Many of her close associates, including her closest companion during the election campaign, Maryia Kalesnikava, were jailed.

    Worldwide reactions

EU commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the release as “fantastic news and a powerful symbol of hope for all the political prisoners suffering under the brutal Lukashenka regime”.

Reactions from the US included deputy John Coale who praised US “President Trump’s strong leadership” and “the Lithuanian government for its cooperation and assistance”.
According to the Belarusian human rights centre Vyasna, over 50,000 people have been detained on political grounds after mass protests broke out following Lukashenka’s 2020 presidential election win, and at least 5,472 people have been convicted in politically-motivated criminal cases.
The United Nations estimates that around 300,000 Belarusians have left the country since then, with most going to Poland and Lithuania.
Even today, between 15 and 20 people are being detained in Belarus every day.
In 2023, Tsikhanouskaya was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The FP-5 “Flamingo” missile is capable of travelling 3,000km and delivering a payload of 1,150kg, according to its maker, the Ukrainian defence start-up Fire Point.

The firm said it is producing roughly one Flamingo per day, and hoped to build capacity to make seven per day by October. That would equate to more than 200 missiles each month, or some 2,500 a year.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said last week that the Flamingo had undergone successful testing and should go into mass production by February at the latest.
“The missile has undergone successful tests. It is currently our most successful missile,” he told reporters.
“By December, we’ll have more of them,” Zelenskyy told reporters. “And by the end of December or in January–February, mass production should begin.”Flamingo missiles are seen at Fire Point's secret factory in Ukraine on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.Flamingo missiles are seen at Fire Point’s secret factory in Ukraine on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.

The Flamingo’s explosive capabilities greatly outweigh the long-range drones and mini-cruise missiles Ukraine currently employs, according to Fabian Hoffmann, a doctoral research fellow and missile expert at the University of Oslo in Norway.
The missile’s high terminal velocity, in combination with its heavy weight, means that the warhead penetrates deeper into the target before exploding, which significantly increases the destructive power, he wrote last week in his Substack entitled Missile Matters.
Second, the Flamingo’s large payload capacity produces a much wider lethal radius than existing Ukrainian missiles and drones, according to Hoffmann.
“Even achieving a steady monthly output of 30-50 missiles would give Ukraine a substantial supply of heavy cruise missiles that would likely have tangible effects on the war,” he wrote.

The unveiling of the Flamingo comes amid reports that the Pentagon has blocked Kyiv from using US-supplied long-range missiles to hit targets inside Russia, as US President Donald Trump tries to get his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to join peace talks.
Washington has stopped Ukraine from deploying the Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) against targets in Russia for several months, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference the following day, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine could hit targets deep inside Russia without the need for coordination with Washington.
“As of today, we are using our domestically produced long-range weapons. And to be honest, we haven’t been discussing such matters with the US lately,” he said.

    Controversy over Germany’s Taurus

Zelenskyy’s remarks about the Flamingo followed months of speculation over whether Ukraine would receive the arms it has long sought: Germany’s Taurus cruise missiles.
Equipped with stealth technology, the Taurus has a range of up to 500km, which would be able to reach targets deep in Russia from Ukrainian soil.
Ukraine has been asking Germany for the missiles to complement the long-range Storm Shadow missiles sent by the UK and France’s nearly identical Scalp cruise missiles. The Storm Shadow cruise missile is on display during the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, north of Paris, France, Monday, June 19, 2023The Storm Shadow cruise missile is on display during the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, north of Paris, France, Monday, June 19, 2023

Germany is the second biggest provider of military aid to Ukraine after the US and has pledged this year to further ramp up its support.
However, ex-Chancellor Olaf Scholz refused to supply Ukraine with Taurus missiles because he did not want Germany to be directly involved in the war.
Austrian military expert Gustav Gressel told Euronews he believed the discussion around the Taurus in Germany was “a little absurd”.
Gressel pointed out that Scholz had said that the risk of escalation was significant, as were the training costs involved, even though the Ukrainians had already used the UK’s Storm Shadow “without it being the end of the world”.

    ‘Ukraine’s strongest security guarantee’

During the German election campaign, the country’s now-Chancellor Friedrich Merz signalled his intention to supply Ukraine with the Taurus missiles if he was elected.
In early July, Merz said that decision was still under consideration.
A fortnight later, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius told the Financial Times that the country would not supply Ukraine with the Taurus missiles.
During Merz’s first official visit to Kyiv back in May, he said that the German government would stop disclosing details about military aid for Ukraine. The reason for this was “strategic ambiguity”, so that Russia would not know in advance which weapons were being supplied.
This was followed by an announcement that Berlin and Kyiv would work together to develop the industrial production of long-range missiles.
“Germany will finance the future production of long-range weapons systems in Ukraine,” the defence ministry said in a press release on 28 May.
“A considerable number of long-range weapons systems are to be produced in 2025. The weapon systems will be available to the Ukrainian armed forces quickly — the first ones can be deployed in just a few weeks.”A Taurus KEPD 350 cruise missile during a visit by Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, March 5, 2024A Taurus KEPD 350 cruise missile during a visit by Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, March 5, 2024

It is unclear whether the German government has co-financed the Flamingo cruise missile.
In response to a question from Euronews, a spokesperson for Germany’s defence ministry said that “for reasons of military security, no questions can be answered about individual weapons systems or support for individual commercial enterprises”.
Gressel — the military expert — said that although the Taurus is more difficult to detect on radar and more manoeuvrable than the Flamingo, the latter “has a far greater range and warhead, so it has a far greater effect on the target”.
Whether or not the Flamingo will ultimately change the nature of the war in Ukraine depends on the intel that Kyiv has about its targets, according to Gressel.
“Is the target strongly defended? Are there gaps in the Russian air defence? Where and when are Russian fighter patrols in the air that could intercept the missile? The more precisely you know this, the better you can plan missions,” he explained.
For Hoffmann of the University of Oslo, the mass production of the Flamingo does not only have major implications for Russia’s ongoing war, but also Ukraine’s post-war deterrence.
“That is Ukraine’s strongest security guarantee,” Hoffmann said in a post on X. “If it can field 3,000 to 5,000 of these (and similar) missiles, ready within 24 to 48 hours to destroy upward of 25% of Russia’s economic output, further Russian aggression becomes untenable.”
